Top OHill Terrace was once a gambling site for outlaws and wanderers in early 1900s. It turned into an underground casino after law raided the site, but later reverted to its tea room form. The Top OHill Terrace is one of the earliest casinos in America and has a fascinating history.

Sunday we went on a tour for Top O' Hill Terrace at Arlington Baptist College. Vickie Bryant lead the tour and was fantastic. She was so passionate and has uncovered so much information about VEGAS BEFORE VEGAS right in Arlington, Texas….who knew! We were introduced to so much history and learned of the hidden tunnels that had been used at that time. Definitely would recommend the tour and we’re interested in going back. Thank you Vickie.

Perfect for an all white affair, some wine and good feels. Cheers to arlington Baptist 🥰

Little known history around Arlington that is amazing and shocking. Vicky is a great historian about Top of the Hill. Make an appointment and go hear amazing stories and tour "Top of the Hill" soon. This is free but a $10 donation is suggested.

What a treat to be able to learn about and see the property! A gangster casino right in Arlington. That's baller! The tunnels were fascinating. The tour guide was brilliantly knowledgeable. We could tell she's poured her heart and soul in to dissecting the history and connecting the stories wonderfully. Hats off to you and your fantastic work!

Top historical place to visit in Arlington. A Vegas before Las Vegas. Mrs. Vickie shares tons of information about the history of the place. All info at the top of the tongue. She's encyclopedia of details. You don't understand how you spent 2,3 hours listening to her narration. The old artifacts are well displayed n neat. Admire her enthusiasm and energy to take us around the property, the tunnel etc. She should write a book on this. Enjoyed my visit as an international student of UTA.... Best wishes from Medha.

I would recommend anyone to visit the Top O’the Hill Terrace. If you love history and know anything about the great preacher Dr. J. Frank Norris, you will love your visit to this place. You not only will receive a good history lesson, but you can also get a picture next to their statue of J. Frank Norris. So, enjoy!

Scottie Rackley — Google review

I highly recommend to visit this place and take the tour. Vickie is an amazing tour guide, she knows so much about the place, has met many people who visited as well as their friends of family. This place is called the “Vegas before Vegas” an illicit casino and brothel where many rich and famous people visited during the prohibition era.

Cinthia CH — Google review

I had no idea about the history of Top O' Hill Terrace until my sister arranged for us to go on a tour. I was completely unaware that this place was VEGAS BEFORE VEGAS and now it's Arlington Baptist College. If you LOVE or just LIKE History, you'll enjoy Top O' Hill Terrace. This location in the 1930s and 40s was a gambling playground for the rich, famous and infamous. We're talking about some of the big names of that time like Bonnie and Clyde, Mae West, W.C.Fields, Gene Autry, Frank Sinatra,, Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, Jack Dempsey, Max Baer and the man responsible for Las Vegas, Bugsy Siegel just to name a few. Before it was a casino, it was a tea room but in the 1920s Fred and Mary Browning bought the property and converted it to a gambling mecca. The Browns added an escape tunnel and secret rooms for hiding the gambling equipment during police raids. The tunnel and secret rooms still exist and can be seen during the tour. It's all just fascinating stuff. Tour guide, Mrs. Vickie Bryant, is absolutely WONDERFUL. This tour is a WINNER in my book. 👍⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This was a very good place to visit. A lot of information is shared on the history from the tour guide we gave a donation of money and it was definitely worth it. We were there maybe a couple hours.

History of the grounds about past Casino activity. Many famous and infamous people visited! History is quite interesting.

Top place to visit in Arlington, hands down! An amazing tour filled with the rich history of prohibition, a hidden casino and a bible college that youd never realize Arlington had hidden away. Famous people known to visit like Bonnie and Clyde, Ginger Rogers, Sinatra, John Wayne and many more. Hidden secret tunnels that they even havnt discoveres, flip around rooms, amazing personal testimonies. You have to check this out!

State park

Nature & Parks

Cedar Hill State Park is a 351-acre state park located southeast of Fort Worth, Texas. The park offers a variety of outdoor activities, including fishing, bird watching, biking, and swimming. The park also has campsites and picnic tables that can accommodate up to 50 people.

A fabulous and expansive state park with a giant lake, splendid facilities, abundant wildlife and birds. Miles of hiking trails and walking paths. I got there at 6 AM when the gates opened and spent four hours. Dog friendly. Nice restrooms. Great views. A few miles of roads to see nature.

David Kravetz (Sumoflam) — Google review

Beautiful and peaceful. Very relaxing. We lost our atlas and the park volunteers found it and was waiting for someone to ask about it. They gave it back and was pleased to be able to help us. Great little park lots of good campsites. Didn't have time to walk trails but it is peaceful.

James Smith — Google review

Hiking on some very long trails 🚴 🚵 lots of birds even caught a glimpse of a nice size rat snake 🐍 on the trail. Following the fun we had picnic 🍉 with swimming. 👙 Having the breeze from the lake is an excellent way to beat the Texas heat. Several pavilions for shade and grills went to great use. My only complaint is the construction is still going on the beach side so if you want a swim beware of the rocks 🪨 ouch! Hopefully, they're building a playground other than that very clean, fun family adventure for a day or stay.

Fred Spencer — Google review

Nice park. They patrol good during the day but once it goes dark did not see them drive around on Coyote Crossing. Staff are friendly at the front, admission was quick and easy. The park was nice and clean, lots of shade and trees. Water looked beautiful and was very relaxing to watch.

Mike Guadarrama — Google review

We camped overnight at the park. Our campsite included electricity, picnic table, fire pit, water from a faucet, and paved parking space for up to 3 vehicles (long enough for an RV). Other campsites include 2 parking spots side-by-side. Our space is big enough for 2 large tents.Due to rain, several dirt trails were closed... although trails that are paved are open at all times. The Shoreline Trail (paved) is very nice and there's a brand new restroom facility. There's a playground on this trail.Overall, this park is not as scenic or hilly as other parks in terms of high and low elevations. But, it's still a beautiful place to explore nature and spend a few nights.

Francisco Leung — Google review

Very pretty park, stayed there for a few weeks in November and December. Lots of different options and views, great hiking trails. Park staff is nice. The nature is beautiful, loved the nightly howls of coyotes. There were some issues with toilets, but overall the stay was good.

Looksgreatanya — Google review

Huge state park. Campground area was nice. Sites were un-level, but spacious. Staff was friendly, self guided tour of Penn Farm at the park was really interesting. Plus it’s so close to anything you could want to do in Dallas.

Nikki Chitwood — Google review

We like the park's location in the southern portion of the metroplex so we can camp near all the DFW amenities without having to take our 35' trailer into the city. The folks at the park gate couldn't have been more friendly and efficient, and our site (174) was clean and well kept on arrival. The site was level and private with a lot of trees and bushes all around, and we had just enough room for our RV and pickup on the pavement. Unfortunately, there is no "lake view" from this site, at least not when we visited in April 2024.

Jeff Haessler — Google review

Not sure how I lived in Arlington for a good 4 years and never visited this park. Amazing views, good trails and last but not least…. Peaceful. Loved it. Will definitely come back for some camping as I peeped the perfect little site 👀-

Stephanie Sanchez — Google review

We loved our Father's Day camping/lake trip! The spot we had and the facilities available were perfect. My only complaint was the amount of rocks on the shore and in the water at the spots we went to. Highly recommend this as a getaway, but with water shoes!

Natalie — Google review

I'm not the typical visitor for this place.I came here looking for great views and a twisty technical road to drive. Not fast, nothing crazy. Just not endless highways with a car that deserves to go around a few corners.I found that here... and found an amazing escape from the Dallas cityscape. In 20 minutes out of the city, I felt like I'd been transported somewhere totally different than Texas.Amazing scenery. Gorgeous, welcoming nature. The lake was mesmerizing and calming. And I got to drive the twisty roads I was looking for.10/10. Will be back again, and I'll bring a blanket and some good and have a picnic.

Sanjay Jenkins — Google review

Came to swim at the day-use area. I will say that if you are bringing someone with sensory sensitivity, note that when you’re walking into the water there are small rocks/pebbles until about 3ft in where it changes to slick, thick mud. Otherwise, we enjoyed our time at the park and loved the covered picnic tables! Pretty views too. Toilet near the swim area didn’t flush and roads were choppy here and there, but the park staff was nice and we enjoyed our day out.

Mahailey Oliver — Google review

Came here for the eclipse! I was pleasantly surprised by this park - the mountain biking trails on dobra were very fun. We had our own private beach off of our campsite and everything was so green! Amazing bird watching, although we were sad we didn't see an armadillo, but happy the "invasive ants" weren't an issue! We also brought paddleboards and had fun exploring some of the shoreline, especially the area with dead trees (very cool habitat for birds over there) - I'm only taking a star off because the water didn't seem very clean/clear and the shoreline was very muddy so didn't feel super pristine, also a bit of micro trash at our site. That said, grateful for the quite, private and large site!

hana hiratsuka — Google review

It is a great place to camp, fish, swim, and hike for individuals, groups, and families. While camping, you have access to water and electricity at your campsite. There are bathrooms with showers too.I’ve always enjoyed the classes, yoga, and guided hikes.

Coy Poitier — Google review

25 min from Dallas what not to love?!We’ve stayed here a few times camping in our trailer. It’s a nice clean park that’s pretty darn big with a big lake, pier fishing, tent and rv camping plus primitive camping sites. Firewood for sale by front office (they could run out if you’re getting there middle of the wknd). Bike friendly and even got to use the “jammock” aka Jeep roof hammock at the lake for the sunset! When booking an rv site some have sewer/full hook ups and some only have water and electric! We were at site 242 in Hog Wallow which does not have sewer but a nice HUGE spot with both hill and lake views. Dump site was very close and very clean.Beautiful go to camping spot near the city with hills and trails and cute little events every month like guided tours, eclipse campfire talk and telescope party, Xmas events, kid stuff, just a bunch of fun cute things.A good amount of rv and camping spots have water views.

MayaW — Google review

Nice park, I visited my friend while she was camping here. $7 for a day pass. The bathrooms are decently clean and there are showers. Lots of scorpions so be careful of children and pets!

Fiona Szigethy — Google review

Great experience!!! Haven't been camping since I was a kid. Really enjoyed being out in nature and having a good time.

Rob G — Google review

Recently they renovated the park and now it's so good. Penn farm trail is full of old stuffs like barn, house, farm machines. Restrooms are clean. Day use area is nearby of lake and view is very beautiful. Also, trails are so beautiful to walk.Such a beautiful park in a very close distance of Dallas.

Farhin Momtaj — Google review

Beautiful and quiet park. Lakeside picnic tables in day use areas. Back in spaces for RV's and trailers as well as. tent camping.

Had a great time out at the park today. Especially enjoyed sharing my telescope with others! An experience like the eclipse is definitely worth sharing with others!

Steven Goff — Google review

Such a beautiful place to go to and experience! The park rangers are so kind and helpful. I always find some wildlife out here, great place to unwind and breath in some fresh air.

Maria Arriaga — Google review

Thousand Star Accommodations! It's a great place to go camping and day hiking, with beautiful views of the lake! The weather was chilly, but we were prepared and there aren't as many people or pests to contend with during the off-season. We opted to go into the neighboring town for dinner, then built a fire in the evening. Reasonable prices, prepaid, helpful reservation staff, and zero hassle from neighbors or park rangers.

Water & Amusem*nt Parks

Amusem*nt park

Hawaiian Falls Mansfield, located in The Colony and Garland, Texas, features slides, rides, a wave pool and lazy river. It is set to reopen on June 4th in The Colony and June 5th in Garland. This water park is themed after the tropical paradise of Hawaii and is family-friendly. Limited capacity ensures visitor safety while staying in line with Governor Abbott's recommendation of 25%.

It was wonderful!! I enjoyed sitting in the shaded picnic area watching my g-kids have a blast. It was really a great experience for the whole family. 💦

Michelle Houston — Google review

Session passes are well worth it and so is the locker or cooler card for the session. If you go twice it paid for your session pass. My children have a blast and have been pretty much every day since they opened. Park is always clean, staff is friendly and always are nice to the kiddos and chat it up with them which is nice because it gives them smiles and they feel they have friends up there. Food price is fair for a Waterpark. Cabanas go fast on the weekend so be there early or call in advance. Session pass holders can get in 30 minutes early. All in all wonderful place to spend your summer at to get out the heat. Oh and the kids area is pretty big!

Cherie “B.B.” Shaw — Google review

Food was served raw. Pay cooler pass instead don't risk your health. Also a hard piece was found in my fries that wasn't a piece of fry. Will not eat here again. The young crowd they have working here isn't considering families health and wellbeing. The cashier did apologize but that's not enough. The place is great for family water fun. That I have nothing negative to say.

Maira ?Isela? — Google review

I was surprised how much fun it was celebrating the sun fun and water park. This is a great place where you can relax with the entire family. That’s some thing for everyone if you want to lay in the sun, swim with waves, or float the lazy river!

Ability & Associates — Google review

We always have an awesome time when we come. They have 3 different sections for the little ones, lazy river, wave pool, and so many tubes to go down lol.

Kathy Arriaga — Google review

For the money you pay, this place is run down and waste of money. Not only do you pay to get in, there are hardly any tubes to use. I asked a manager if they had anymore, “oh they pop” was his response- seriously?! Oh if you want a guaranteed one- yes you can pay $15 extra for that too (don’t worry they had plenty of those). It wasn’t even that busy, so you surely don’t want to visit on a busy day the experience would be worse. (Don’t forget to bring $$$ for lockers and over priced food too).

Lindsay Smith — Google review

Just visited this park for the first time today 6-4-23 with two younger teenagers and a toddler. It was honestly a lot of fun! We for the added drinks and combo to our ticket and didn’t even need the cooler that we paid a $15 fee for, which was still reasonable. There were very tolerable lines I’m talking 3-5 min wait. The combo that comes with the ticket was very well served. We got the double cheese burger with fries and a drink. The burger only came with cheese but it was quite delicious and big. I ate and fed my toddler and we still had some left. It is a very family friendly park. We’re getting a season pass after our experience today.

Diana Martin — Google review

Pros: there's a ton of things to do here and there's plenty of staff and lifeguards on-hand, so it seems pretty safe. Membership is affordable.Cons: it can get really busy, there were parts of the park that could have been cleaner, the restrooms were extremely lacking for a park this big and the food service was convoluted. Perhaps some quick grab and go options like at QuickTrip would be a better option. It seemed like a lot of people were waiting around for not so exciting food.

Erik Kluetz — Google review

Every time we've been here, something hasn't been working. Most recently it was one set of the body slides and the wave pool. If you're wearing water socks they make you take them off on slides (in addition to hats and glasses). I understand maybe doing that on the super fast drop slides, but the ones where you ride on inner tubes and slow body slides that land in an individual 6 inch deep water pool, your items are not falling off or getting lost. Especially the water socks. Also, on the section of 4 inner tube slides, they had maybe 4 double tubes and 4 single tubes. You had to wait at the bottom forever for a tube, so it took way longer than it should. Overall, it's just an ok park. We go each year once, only because it's on our Pogo Pass, but would not ever go more than once or pay to go.

Ashley Sumners — Google review

We had a great time it was our first time at Hawaiian Falls with our new season pass. I have a suggestion for the owner I noticed on the lifevest that it had a detailed chart however it was not color-coded nor were the jackets appropriately named for size I would recommend you get a permanent paint or marker stating or color coding the size for the right jacket I hope you understand what I’m stating but I noticed not just myself but other parents confused on what size to put on their child this can be a safety concern. I also noticed a mouse and there was six women standing on the table screaming I know you probably can’t control it because it is outside in a field so it’s probably a field mice and was attracted to the water that will not deter us we will be back again!!! The staff was very friendly and it’s a good fun family park environment!!

Nikki Hansen — Google review

The season passes are around $60 and so worth it! If you go 2-3 times during the summer you would have already paid for a pass. Plus there are plenty of benefits that come with the season pass such as bringing one person free every time, entering a park 30 minutes before the public, and discounts on food. This was our first time here and we loved it! The pools were clean and they had a lot of lifeguards on duty. The outside park was clean however the bathrooms definitely need attention. The food menu is very limited so I advise to get the cooler pass and bring your own food (no fast food). The fruit bar is the best and they have elotes! They have plenty of tables in the shade for families too.

Dimendaruff One — Google review

Went on a Friday. Park was not very busy. If we would had gone on a busy day it would had been a terrible experience. Food was slow to come out and I was the only person in the line. They didn't have enough tubes to get on the rides and float the lazy river. They wait too dang long before letting the next person slide down the water slide. You can buy a locker to store your belongings. Burgers were OK but they didn't have lettuce or tomatoes just had cheese. I think more locals attend vs people from out of town.

Mike Guadarrama — Google review

We had a lot of fun. Wish they had some way to streamline the wait times. We waited for 45 minutes to get on 1 slide. Other than that, park was clean and up to par.

Victoria Vallier — Google review

Jaden Burrow — Google review

Website says office closes at 5pm. They close at 430! Took part of a day off work to see the County Clerk...what a waste of time.

Julie Lusk — Google review

Went there for passport got there like an hour before they close and The security guards in front at the check entrance are very rude they say they’re close when they are not just because they have some people in their that doesn’t mean they close so I insisted to go in and they attended me and not even close to time they close. If you go with plenty of time and they say they are close they are not. They did that to me twice ☹️ the first time lost half day of work took my child out of school early for nothing . Made meMad after they try doing that the second time 😠

I called multiple numbers that were given to me so I could call and make a payment. Each time I was sent to a voicemail where I left a message asking for them to return my phone call, which they never did. This is very frustrating, because I have a due date for this payment and am paying by card

I live near Palestine and made the trip twice to get a copy of my divorce papers, i searched the big book and found two different cause numbers and they were unable to find either one. Who looks for these how long do they look and,d and how hard do they look?

I had a good experience at this location 5/2018. I was in & out in 10min. I downloaded & completed the paperwork at home and had photo taken in advance at Walgreens. All I really had to do was drop off paperwork, have it notarized on site, and pay. I couldn't believe it when my passport arrived in only about 10 days. Generally, government workers are not known for customer service but that being the case I thought the staff was cordial.

Charlotte Scott — Google review

I chose to go to this location because the Dallas locations are always packed. I kept calling to see if they took passport pictures at this location (like they do in Dallas) but no one would answer the phone. I walk in and there are two ladies seated at the counter, and both just looked at me. I guess that is how they greet customers and let you know they are willing to help. I was disappointed to find out they didn't take pictures on site. Go to CVS to get the pictures . I return, and again the same greeting, just a stare. I guess I interrupted breakfast because they both were eating something that looked like a Poptart. I'm sorry I interrupted your breakfast, and I am even more sorry that I am making you do the job that you chose to work. If I ever need anything else, I will just wait in the Dallas offices. What ever happened to customer service?

Melanie Hawkins — Google review

I called this morning on the morning of 02/04/2019 and the phone was answered by district court staff of Ellis County, and i hate to speculate, but I'm sure I was hung up on. I began my question to the clerk's office and was followed by a tone. I proceeded to call back, then I was swiftly sent to voicemail repeatedly. These are legal matters that affect the lives of many and if the personnel of this district clerks office doesn't care enough about people's live, they should find another profession. I wish that i could upload the audio to show that I have to motive to fabricate such a claim. This is a court clerks office, not a call center. These people have no business presiding over important legal matters of other individuals lives if they are just to answer the inquiries of people within this county, just do your job. Trust me, I wouldn't call this court if i didn't have to. Awfully rude, they can be with lack of professionalism and integrity in what they do.

Rural vineyard hosting tastings, food pairings, tours, concerts & weddings in scenic environs.

Absolutely loved our tour with Zack. He was so eloquent in teaching us all about Lost Oak, it’s vineyard and process. Our group even got to hear from Angela one of the wine makers and see how truly passionately she is about her art. (Also I Love Norman) 😊 Truly a fun experience and enjoyed each part of the tour. Wonderful experience for my birthday for sure. I will definitely be coming back.

Enjoyed our first visit to this winery. Great venue for casual gatherings. We walked the nature trails and managed to get lost! Be sure to pick up a trail map before endeavoring your walk! As we we leaving, musicians were setting up to play. We had other plans so couldn’t stay. Lots of cars were coming in so we will plan that in the future. My only recommendation is to chill the white wines a little more. My two glasses were not cold.

Jan Raymond — Google review

What a lovely winery! Super friendly staff (always such a plus right up front)! The wines followed up in the same vein…delicious. We are dry wine drinkers and those are what we sampled. Not disappointed. The grounds were expansive with loads of seating options: inside, covered outside and under the trees outside. AND pet friendly!! Gabriel (our adventure kitty) was welcomed with open arms.Definitely worth the stop, or the detour! We will be back.

A friend of mine suggested we meet somewhere new that neither of us had visited before. We live in different cities, so we try to find a halfway point to meet up and visit with each other. I'm so glad she found Lost Oak Winery! We both had a flight (she tried the dry whites, and I tried the dry reds). Jessica was our lovely host for the tastings. We bought a bottle of the Estes, which seemed perfect for a spring day, a charcuterie tray, and a couple of wine glasses (no, you don't have to buy the glasses, we just wanted to). We headed outside to a table down by the water. Everything was perfect! We enjoyed sitting under the shade trees, drinking wine, enjoying some tasty food, and catching up with each other. I told my husband I want to take him there for a date. :)

Kimberley Hill — Google review

Lovely venue with a nice variety and friendly service. The muscat was not as sweet as I would have hoped for, but it was nice and smooth. The outside environment is very accommodating for different entertainment and relaxing options. I see why it's a favorite to a family member.

Delightful place to taste wine, stretch legs, and let the kids run. We were on our way to meet up with friends before heading to the airport, looking for a place to kill time when we spotted this place on the map. They have 3 tasting menus (including a red/white mix); I tried the sweets and my husband tried the reds. All of my wines were good & we left with a nice hostess gift. The kids had Capri-Sun's and meat/cheese snacks, ran through the vines sneaking a taste of unripe grapes, and chilled under the porch misters. The tasting room & bathrooms have AC. The turn for this place isn't quite where Google maps has it - watch for signs & CR 802.

We used Lost Oak's event space for our wedding, and it was perfect! We had a smaller crowd, but you could definitely fit a ton of people in this venue, but with that being said our wedding with about 44 guests didn't feel empty in the space. The way they set everything up and spaced the tables made the room feel just right! Cayla our event coordinator was SO helpful, she always responded to emails quickly and she really helped to make our day perfect! I also highly recommend getting the unlimited wine and co*cktails! It was a great value and our guests loved getting to try all the different co*cktails, and wines!

We love coming to Lost Oak! Great wine, paninis and wonderful workers. It is so relaxing to sit and chill out with some wine.

Jill Howard — Google review

Amazing venue for my husband's 50th Surprise Birthday Party! They were super helpful coordinating everything and helped in any way they could. Staff was very professional at the event and were there to assist with anything we needed. Plus the place is beautiful and the wine is perfect 🍷

Victoria Serralta — Google review

We enjoyed the beautiful summer evening with delicious wine and entertaining music. What a lovely spot! Guests are friendly and the dog loved it!! We are looking forward to returning soon.

Erin Gerdes — Google review

We had a lovely day at lost oak. The property is gorgeous. The wine was fabulous. We had a great tour with Michele and even got to meet the wine maker. I don’t expect much from Texas wineries but this wowed me. Here are some pics of the tanks, I love that the appreciative wine maker has given them all hilarious personalities. I wish it was closer to Plano but we will be back—lots of fun activities here and dogs are welcome any time!

I had never been here but learned about an 80s theme dance night and decided to go. The place was packed. The event was well organized. There were food trucks and the wine service was super friendly. I wasn’t sure which wine I wanted, so they let me taste a few whites (my go-to) to find which one I liked. The white orange wine was my favorite. The music and DJ was AWESOME! Everybody was having a blast.

Mindi Lyons — Google review

This is a late review, but we attended Lost Oaks’ 80’s party last month. The DJ and Mr. T impersonator were amazing. They also had two food trucks and my family had a wonderful time. This is 3rd year in a row we’ve attended the 80’s party and the weather was beautiful for this event. The only thing I’d recommend is more vendors, we love local vendors.

Rhonda Miller — Google review

This was me and my husband's second visit here and we absolutely love it. The wine is nothing short of amazing and the staff is so incredibly friendly. You really feel like you know everyone. We can't wait to come back!

Jada Howell — Google review

Today was better than when we brought our family here. We enjoyed 3-4 tastings of dry reds. And ended up bringing home 2 bottles of red wine. Good service, and yummy charcuterie board. Good for about 3 people. I always like the ambiance.

Lisa Riedel — Google review

everyone was so friendly and so nice and welcoming. The staff was just lovely. This female helped us and she was beyond kind and attentive to us and understanding it was our first time trying wine wish I would’ve got her name but we will definitely be very inexpensive in the atmosphere, as a whole is just a vibe.

This 2-part gallery at Navarro College has interpretive Civil War displays & Western-themed art.

Was able to come visit some of Pearce museum. We got a personal tour from Simeon. Learned so many things I have never known or been taught before. This collection has some things that I have not seen before such as some cross hatch correspondence letters. Learning about how they signaled people on the underground railroad with quilts and colors was informative. I look forward to coming back when I have time to bring the kids to learn this valuable history!

This museum was a very happy surprise! The building is huge and spacious, so all of the exhibits have enough room to breathe. The displays are beautifully organized and categorized. I could spend hours here, and I'm stunned it's not a more known destination.

Wonderful museum about the civil war era. Worth the trip to Corsicana. Nice little gift shop too.

Kathy Langell — Google review

Little known museum in Corsicana. But a must to see and tour. The tour guide was great and very knowledgeable, he gave a great overview of each area . They have a great collection of Arrowheads over 40,000, a wonderful art gallery and Civil War section. The entrance fee is 5.00. We'll go back because we didn't get to see everything.

I was very surprised that The Pearce Collection museum had as much as they did. Dennis guided us through the exhibits and was very knowledgeable about everything. A delightful experience that I will remember and hope to return some day.

Excellent Western art museum. Wish I could have spent more time looking at the permanent collection paintings. Good to see some watercolor paintings and not just oil paintings.

Great place to see some Native American artifacts from the area and the Western Art was amazing.

We love the Plaza! This theater is by far, the best around! Amazing talent - both singing and acting are good. Great seating, no matter where you sit. Not a bad seat in the whole theater! My husband and I have been season ticket holders for several years now and we look forward to the variety of shows. It's family friendly, so we even take our kids (ages 10, 8 and 5) with us to some of the shows. Would highly recommend the Plaza Theater.

The Hill County Courthouse is a gathering place for City of Hillsboro Events, the Hillsboro Farmers Market that runs from May through October of each year, and is the heart of Hillsboro. Numerous shops and businesses surround the landmark structure, and its restoration efforts garnered visits and support of George W and Laura Bush, and Willie Nelson, among other notables. Visitors love to come and look, but locals still snap photos and revere the courthouse structure, interior and lawn.

Hillsboro Local Guide — Google review

Hillsboro is a great town to spend a few minutes or a few hours if you are traveling. The courthouse is beautiful. They were decorating for Christmas when we went through. Had a walk around the square in the rain and captured some interesting photos. Don't rush through these smaller towns, they are full of history, great people, and interesting stops. Get off the main road and discover Texas.

Wayne Gooden — Google review

This beautiful French inspired courthouse in Hillsboro is worth the 5 extra minutes off I35 to go see. If you need to make a pit stop, head to the bathrooms in the basem*nt.

Benjamin Jones — Google review

Beautiful courthouse! I second the comment on the bathroom in the basem*nt. Very clean and modern.

D Largent — Google review

Water has been draining from the courthouse to the corner of Elm and Franklin, next to the closed down Landry mat for weeks nonstop. Now there's algae growing there and it's super slippery and dangerous. Last time I walked over there I slipped and almost headbutted the telephone poll there. I caught myself, but for someone older that's something truly dangerous. Tried to call courthouse maintenance and they wouldn't answer the phone. A building across the street shouldn't make the sidewalk so unsafe.

Cassidy Decker-Fuller — Google review

One of the most beautiful county courthouses I have ever seen. I had driven by on I-35 countless times before finally getting off to have a look. What a jewel, hidden in plain sight.

Campsite on a reservoir known for its catfish, bass & striper fishing & swimming/scuba locales.

Our campsite had plenty of shade and a great view of the lake. Access to the water was very difficult though. Fishing from this site meant navigating the large and some loose rocks. We will try a different site next time. The park is clean and the staff was great.

Michelle — Google review

We had such an amazing time camping with the family here! The kids got to fish, swim, and hike. While we were swimming my oldest daughter took it upon her self to pick up trash on the beach,it wasnt a trashed beach just some trash here and there, but being a girl scout we always leave a place better than we found it. Loved walking the trail, it had beautiful views and got to identify different plants and wild life. We saw lots of deer. We will definitely be back. The staff is very nice and friendly!

Beccie Riley — Google review

This is one of my favorite parks in a Texas. Stay in Blue Bird loop site 93, camped on the water, great fishing spot. Site had fire ring and covered table on a cement slab. Campground has two nice walking trails, firewood for sale at the ranger office. Bathrooms were cleaned daily, plus showers were hot. Very friendly staff and camp hosts, will stay here again.

Blueknight — Google review

Beautiful park, love that they have full hook up 50 Amp sites. The little beach is perfect for the kids. Can fish all along the bank without having a license. $5 per person fee or get a pass. Will visit again.

Alisha Hunter — Google review

Quiet and clean park with amazing views of the lake. Two big trails good for hiking or biking as well. Tons of places to go fishing too. We'll return here and spend more time in the water.

Zachary Roberts — Google review

This place is underrated and really good for camping, kayaking and other activities. There are several camping spots by the lake. We went on a sudden plan in summer. It was full moon & the weather was cool. FIY, Network is poor over there and nearby Walmart is 30 minutes drive. So be prepared before going. Have a nice trip!

Ridita Shaila — Google review

Lake Whitney is a very nice park. It’s very big and spread out. Good lake access for swimming wish the lake was a little cooler but that’s not some thing that can be controlled. It’s just hot RV sites are nice with full hook ups most have decent shade, but not all.

Zachery McGavitt — Google review

This park is located just one and a half hours away from DFW. The lake is very large and beautiful, and I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. The screened shelters are situated close to the water, and the swimming area is also pleasant. The park is clean, and although the entrance may be a bit unexciting, once you enter, you'll surely enjoy it.

Farhin Momtaj — Google review

Beautiful lake! Already planning another visit to bring the kids with us! Did some cliff jumping, swimming and shore side fishing. I caught four fish one after another with zero bait! Our campsite was right on the shore and we had access to a nice cove to park our boat overnight. Can't wait to come back!

Stephani Klovensky — Google review

Lake Whitney State Park is a great park and well maintained. The park Rangers are friendly and they're always making their rounds. We had a lake front spot that was quiet, private and the wind off the lake was around 10-12 mph and a blessing when it is 104°. The bathrooms are clean the dumpsters are clean. The hiking trails are incredible! Its was terribly dry, however the park issued warnings. We will come back to this spot.

Bruce Pessink — Google review

Great smaller state park. Sites are good distance apart. Only one dump station. Two trails but they are short and easy. Decent lake access. Lots of wildflowers (April ‘23). Well kept restrooms.

Leo Sharpe — Google review

What a great time we had! Our timing was perfect. Not many other campers, the weather was perfect for hiking and exploring. Lake Whitney is a beautiful lake! The state parks representatives were joyful and polite, helping us to have the best time we could have. We plan to go again every year.

Lake Whitney State Park is a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Texas. This picturesque park offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and outdoor recreational activities. The crystal-clear waters of Lake Whitney provide a serene setting for swimming, boating, and fishing. With ample camping spots and picnic areas, it's an ideal destination for family outings and weekend getaways. The park's clean facilities add to the overall enjoyable experience. Lake Whitney State Park truly offers a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Had a wonderful time at Lake Whitney State Park. Camped for 2 nights, went hiking and hung out by the lake. The lake was beautiful and the camp grounds very pleasant and clean. Will definitely visit again!

Chelsea Tansey — Google review

First time here. Really nice park and lake. We had a screened in shelter, which was very nice and clean. Fairly secluded, lots of space around it, and easy access via a trail to the lake. One downside during our visit is that the closest latrine/shower was closed for repairs. We will be back, perhaps when the weather is cooler.

Brian “Hydro” Maddix — Google review

awesome park! sadly only 2 hiking trails but the two bridges trail was very beautiful! definitely a good option if you want somewhere with a good lake and lots of camp sites!

Emmy G — Google review

Park is situated close to town , office staff was not available and it was self service station so carry cash for entry fee . There were rangers car in the park roaming . Park has one small trail about a mile long and small kid friendly , trail is near sunset point area . There are plenty of camping , RV and shelter area thru out the park, restroom are clean and located thru out the park as well . Lake is huge I mean huge huge and state park offers tables along edges available as first come first serve, swimming area is designated and swimming vest were hanging right next to rest room , I will post a picture as well . If you coming to this park plan to stay till sunset . Sunset view is best from sunset area that is on other side from swimming area and need about 5 mile ride that is pretty along grassland and lake edge . Overall happy go luck park that is clean and offers views , plan to stay for sunset .One more thing there are butterflies on trail .

Sunset ridge 3.19.24. Great camping loop on the water with beautiful sunsets and sunrises. Bathrooms are a short walk up the hill but are spacious and clean

Kimberly Sober — Google review

We just drove through the park, just to scout out potential future camp sites. The park was kept clean and the sites were of good size. The views were beautiful.

Lisa Rodriguez — Google review

Went for the first time and I loved it!! So relaxing and great for fishing. I just have 2 questions. Why is there no shower curtains in the showers? Why wasn't the heat turned on in the restroom when it's cold outside? This is the first state park that does have that and I have been to many.

Michelle Knight — Google review

Stayed at whitetail campground at spot 60, right on the lake with a beautiful view.Showed up late at night paid $14 for tent site and $5 per person a total of $30.Not a place you can just show up and stay at. Reserve ahead of time.We wanted to stay a couple days but turned out to be Easter weekend and it fully booked.Which is fine, but when the campground volunteer came around, she was super rude right off the bat, and really soured our experience. Trying to treat us like we did something wrong, even tho we did our due diligence and paid for the spot when we arrived. Maybe we weren’t on time leaving, but it’s a park it’s really not that big of a deal. The rangers were super kind and friendly, and understanding and didn’t even sweat us like how the volunteer lady did.and even as we were leaving the office the volunteer had to once again tell us what to do, “go out the other door”..it really isn’t hard to be kind to people, especially when folks are just trying to enjoy nature. we had no ideal it was sold out for the weekend when we showed up Thursday night, and we accepted the fact that we couldn’t stay another night.Showers were good and had high pressure and were hot, weird set up though, no privacy really in the showers.

Abee Mills — Google review

Enjoyed the trail and worth the $5 entrance fee.Although it was after hours, the park rangers stopped at the front to see if anyone needed help checking in before she left.

The Waco Mammoth National Monument is a protected paleontological site where an ancient herd of Columbian mammoths was discovered in 1978. The site now contains fossilized remains of the mammoths, as well as other Ice Age animals, and offers visitors a chance to view them in person.

It was unfortunate circ*mstances that brought me to this area of Waco (final services at a nearby funeral home), but my wife found this on the map along our way. Our two boys are young enough that this was an amazing break on our trip. Actually, I thought it was just as awesome! The staff was among the most professional and friendly of any park I’ve ever visited. The trail to the site is short and a beautiful walk beneath the trees.Pretty need find a little out of the way, but worth the visit.

Michael Oakes — Google review

This is a really neat site. Our tour guide was great and shared so much about the history and significance of this place.I definitely recommend stopping here. Where else can you see an active (though not being actively worked on) dig site? The gift shop was great too. Specifically the minerals they have for sale. So many different ones to choose from. Great prices too, anywhere from a couple bucks to a couple hundred, depending on the type and size.

Glorkar Floki — Google review

This is fairly young park compared to other national parks. Its small but the main attraction is presented well. Its wheelchair friendly and there are trails for folks who like to exolore. Very small fee but it helps maintain the park.

Ana Bruja - Khayos — Google review

This place was simply amazing! I went here curious about the past and left with so much knowledge and amazing crystals! The tour guide was so sweet and you could tell she was passionate and truly cares about her job. They have a store inside that has some of the most beautiful crystals I’ve ever seen and they are VERY well priced! 10/10, can’t wait to visit again!

Molly C — Google review

My son and I really enjoyed this day trip! Really interesting to see and to hear the tour guide tell of all the fun facts. Great family outing!!! A must for locals, and tourists will find it a treat. The area is quite beautiful and lush, being on the Brazos River area. Easy to imagine these giants roaming around. Other animal bones, such as giant tortoises, camels, and some they're not sure, are there too. Great day!

Constance Cade — Google review

Okay so bathrooms only available near the parking lot. It’s not a far walk to the place. I have a 3 because I just was expecting it to be more educational. Kid friendly. There’s a sand digging box at the top near parking lot. Paths are paved & easy. No wait on a weekend. Buy tickets up front that they do check for before you can see the bones. I also thought there’d be more bones in one location but each one was not individually marked so it was hard to tell where all 22 were.

N Paulic — Google review

Great experience! Very informative tour and the climate controlled dig site was a treat from the heat! The gift shop items were reasonably priced and there is an activity tent for the kids and a sand box where kids can dig for their own fossils. I recommend bringing them in sandals and an extra set of clothes for afterwards. They also have a hiking trail you can do. Beautiful place to visit!

Myra Hernandez — Google review

I think entry was free but if you wanted the guided tour of the site then it was a minimal charge, maybe $5.00 and well worth it. The rangers were excellent. I purchased a lot of interesting items in the gift shop too. Lots of great learning toys for kids. Wish the tee shirts were of a softer material. Only a short drive from downtown Waco and well worth the visit.

Becky C. — Google review

Awesome place to visit with kids. The dig sight was very cool to see, and the tour guide had a lot of information to share about the history. Plus, it's indoors after a short walk!Casey was awesome at the sales table, he was friendly and chatted with my kids about their experience. Another park ranger was a huge help when my youngest fell and scraped her knee, I don't recall her name, but she was quick to give my child first aid and helped calm her down.

Leyna Saultz — Google review

Really cool exhibit showing an archaeological site of ancient mammoth remains. I don’t remember the tour guides name but she was excellent; very knowledgeable and funny too. Definitely worth the $6 and there are some small walking trails too.

Ford Thorman — Google review

First off; do the tour! The guides will tell you what you’re looking at and they make the experience. Anyone who is remotely interested in fossils will enjoy this site. The bones you’re looking at are real; they are being dug out of the ground. It’s an active dig site so if you come back later they may have new info for you!The whole area is easily accessible for anyone. There’s a short walk, but no stairs and it’s all paved; and if you think it’s too far you can ask about the shortcut from the parking lot. The walk is through the woods which is beautiful to see as well. Overall I’d highly recommend coming here and seeing this fascinating site.

sierra kenison — Google review

This was a really fun national monument and I highly recommend visiting if you're in the Waco area.I was here for the total solar eclipse on April 8, 2024 and the rangers did a great job facilitating the event. They gave out free eclipse glasses and kept the crowds under control while being friendly and informative. The ticket for the dig site was $6 and you get to see mammoth fossils still preserved in the ground. The rangers there were happy to answer questions as well. They've also got some hiking and nature trails in the park too.5 stars!

Arnav Agarwal — Google review

You can have a nice walk and beautiful mammoth 🦣 visit to the monument! Definitely a worth visit! My childhood dream of seeing mammoth 🦣 has been fulfilled 😇😁☺️There are many beautiful stones you can purchase at the souvenir shop and got some stuffs! I’m happy and content!Come visit and enjoy the fossils visit!Cheers 🥂

This was a great stop with some fun stuff to check out during the Fall Fossil Festival. The staff was super friendly and engaging. Plenty of parking and golf carts to shuttle you if needed from the overflow parking lot. Pricing is very reasonable for the tour and the items for sale. Lots of info given and interactive things for the kids to do from clotting to digging to helping out with shifting through actual dig sure material to help them find micro fossils. The had pumpkin painting, meet and greet with live camels and even had truck out yet buckets for kids to pick a treat from.

Rene Trevino — Google review

If you have seen the movie ice age and wondered if you will be seeing a real mammoth then you are at the right place. It’s really exciting to think that the fossilized remains that we can see here in the digging site was a real mammoth from ice age. Other than the fossil there is a trail where you can take a short hike. This place also has a picnic spot and restrooms however the restrooms are inside the welcome center. Admission for adults is $6 and only required if you want to visit the dig shelter but you can roam around rest of the park for free. Plenty of parking spots available and you can park your RV either.

Taofiq Hasan — Google review

I just loved my visit. The staff was so friendly and knowledgeable. The bones were amazing to see. The signage was excellent. The vibe was so cool I want to get my degree in whatever I'd need to study so I can work here! What a cool place. Go see some wooly mammoths! (And skip the awful natural history museum.)

Loretta Pontillo — Google review

It’s a must visit place for those living in waco. This place is nice historic and well maintained. The fossil was discovered by two men in 1978 and then upon the realization of the importance of the Mammoth’s fossil this place was made a dig shelter. The museum is under the national park services and was opened for people since 2009. It’s a good place to visit with little kids and to learn about mammoth and history. This area also has hiking trail and picnic area. You should buy tickets from the visitor center and then follow directions to the dig shelter. You will also find souvenirs to buy in the visitor center.

Sadia Disha — Google review

Highly recommed a visit to this location. The guides were so informative. We had a group of people ranging in age from 90 to 9 and everyone loved it!

Bobbie DoLittle — Google review

Great little spot to kill an hour or so. Very interesting guided tour with informative and helpful guides. Pretty neat to be able be so close to the real thing instead of mock ups in a museum!Yes it costs just a bit to see, but they go to pretty extensive lengths to preserve the actively studied site.

Nate Bressler — Google review

Really loved this stop on our Texas road trip. Very interesting information about the Columbian Mammoth. You also get to see the actual fossils and the excavation process. Josie was our guide and did an excellent job. 6 dollars per person for the tour.

Sharon Martin Andre — Google review

Showed up at 9am on a weekday and got a tour with just me and another person. Fairly short and not too many artifacts, but lots of information. Our tour was about 35 minutes since we had some questions. Staff was knowledgeable and friendly. The gift shop was reasonably priced.

Justin Villa — Google review

Very unique park located in Waco. $6 per adult. The gift shop at the entrance hosts the restrooms. Tickets can also be purchased at said gift shop. A tour is included if wanted, or the park can be seen without the tour. If you decide to go on the tour, don't lose your ticket as they will ask for it when you go into the excavation site.

Carlos Gonzalez — Google review

Very fun and informative! They have some of the actual fossils found there and you can look from the same room. Tour tickets are only $6 per adult. Lots of fun souvenirs in the gift shop. They also have replicas you can get closer to or touch. Guides are very knowledgeable about it. This is a newer exhibit that is still growing and they are learning about the fossils more all the time right now. Keep in mind there is really only one small site to see, mostly you are there long enough to learn about what you're looking at. The guide is good because I wouldn't know what any of the bones were if I was looking by myself. Definitely recommend for a quick stop! Seem to be starting tours very frequently. You have plenty of time to take pics and ask questions.

Hannah Hollyfield — Google review

This is an active dig. The real thing! A fun gift shop and sand box for the kids to pretend they are digging for bones. The tour was perfect in length. The tour flow is great. Wait time for next tour 5-15 mins, gift shop, sand box, a 10 min walk along a path through a lush forest, tour guides are informative and humorous, ending up in an air conditioned beautiful pavilion that protects the active dig. Stunning!

Greg Moore — Google review

This is such a great and fun excavation center! The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. They have documentaries on while you wait for a tour to start, and they sell various items to fund the park. We bought a magnet and a stuffed animal. The prices are a bit high, but they are normal for tourist attractions. Their gift shop sells some nice souvenirs, and they have imported rocks. They are right off the highway and have a bathroom, which is nice and convenient. There weren't many people when we went there, but that was midday on a Monday, so don't take that to heart. The cost was very low, and we learned a lot. Hopefully, they can attract more people. I only wish they were doing some excavation, as there were many cool bones/skellingtons I would love to see uncovered. Overall, a 5 star attraction.

Tristan Wilczynska — Google review

Overall, a nice small museum with real mammoth bones still in their location, uncovered. $17 for 2 adults and kid age 4 and 2 year old (free). My girls enjoyed digging up bones in the dirt and asking why the mammoths died. Short 5 min paved walk to the museum from the parking lot - stroller friendly.

Great National Monument park hidden away in Waco. Tours run every half hour, the dog site had a building built around it, air conditioned and protected. The tour guide was friendly, funny, and very informative. Even my preteen admitted it was very cool!Cute gift shop at the top, with free kids mini dig site, that my toddler loved. We spent about 2 hours here, and had a wonderful time at very low cost!

Kelsi Riqueros — Google review

It was awesome! A must visit at Waco. It gives us good information on the mammoths. I definitely recommend the tour as you know what you are looking at. Otherwise it might just be a bunch of bones. The guide was humorous , informative and very helpful. He explained it clearly. They also have a cute little gift shop and so many things to choose from.Just a reminder. No cafe or eatables.Definitely a great place to visit.

Gayathri Iyer — Google review

This was way beyond my expectations!!I’m not sure why but I thought it would only be a couple of mammoth bones, not as many as I got to see today 😃The other animal bones made it feel surreal, the feeling of how different our environments were back then to here I am standing right above so much natural history.I really enjoyed this and need to come back with more time. They have informational tours, I visited on a whim so unsure of the times for those. Ours was at 3:30 then they had another coming up at 4:15 but I was unable to stay.Wait time was less than 10mins (way less) and I did not see an option to pay online just when you get there.

Zoo

Zoos & Aquariums

The Cameron Park Zoo is a fun place to go with children. It houses a wide variety of animals, including many that are not found in other zoos. The zoo is also home to a crocodile exhibit and a large aquarium.

Not too large. Not too small. But just right! This zoo is nicely sized to complete in a few hours. The path winding throughout offers varying views of the animal and enclosure without blocking the animal. If that makes sense…. Would recommend. It was worth the drive from Austin for sure.

P?maika`i — Google review

We really enjoyed this zoo. It was laid out very well. You can tell the animals are cared for here. Their environments were clean and the animals looked healthy. They had lots of items in their habitat that kept them busy. We went in the morning when it was cooler and that was fun since they were feeding the animals. The kids really enjoyed the slide that goes through the water in the otter habitat. The staff was also very friendly and helpful.

Deneane F — Google review

The zoo is really shaded and nice. I wish they had an interactive map. I had to call multiple times to find out if they had Cheetah at the zoo and no one seemed to know and everyone was giving me different responses. At the zoo when I inquired about the Cheetah they sent me to the Tiger :-) some staff members were new so I guess that's alright. Someone from the gift shop was very helpful and they went out of their way to help me over the phone to get me to Cheetah.

Rahul Bhandari — Google review

What an incredible zoo. I didn't know what to expect since it is a bit smaller town. It is so well kept and taken care of. All the animals seemed very well kept, they were very active and had quite large habitats. We got to see the African elephant come down to the water area right in front of the fence and take a bath, spent about 30 minutes with the orangutan because they came and sat right in front of me and followed be around to different parts, and really looking forward to the new penguin exhibit they are building.

Love this zoo! We brought our youngest sons here when they were little and now we get to share it with our grandbabies. There have been a few updates since we were here 10 years ago but overall it was nice to share a similar experience. We also ate at the food court. It would be nice to see some updates to this area. Lines were long and although service was friendly the options are limited.

Jennifer Conner — Google review

This was a good zoo. We wish there were more animals. It seemed like they may have been doing renovations since a lot seemed empty or closed. We loved all of the shaded areas and how beautiful the layout is. This is a great place for families. Remember to bring your water bottle as they have plenty of places to fill up. We'll worth the price.

Lee Ann Robinson — Google review

A nice, small zoo with plenty of shade and several inside exhibits to enjoy. The exhibits were small and some of the animals looked sad, but it was 100+ degrees outside, so we all kind of looked sad. Several of the exhibits were missing animals, including the giraffes, which was a bummer. My kids enjoyed the splash pad and playground, but the slide was super slick and my kids go hurt sliding down so quickly.

Tina Fast — Google review

We went to see the new baby giraffe. Mom and baby were bonding and kept inside. We did get to see and congratulate dad from a distance. The zoo trail is very well organized. I wish they had a map....we got lost at some point not knowing where on the maps we were and how many more stops til the giraffes. The trail has a great mixture of outer and inner exhibits. We are able to escape the heat.We took pictures of the markers throughout the adventure to keep track. It's a great walking course with measured symbols on post so you know how far you've walked. We walked for approximately 2 hours, and arrived back at the entrance shortly after 5:15p.

My wife and I spent a day of shenanigans at the Cameron Park Zoo. I have lived in Texas most of my life and never have been here to this beautiful zoo. Better late than never! We had a wonderful time and matter of fact if you live within Texas and/or planning a getaway vacation I highly recommend this zoo as it's very similar to the world renowned San Diego Zoo with all of its hilly and wooden pathways and buildings. I have been there twice and the Cameron Park Zoo brought back many cherished memories as the orangutan inclosure not included in all of the photos and video is exactly the same as the one at the San Diego Zoo.

John Beissert — Google review

I recently visited Cameron Zoo, and it was a wonderful experience. The presence of African animals added an exotic touch to the zoo, creating a unique and engaging atmosphere. The facility was impeccably clean, enhancing the overall enjoyment of our visit. My daughters particularly loved walking through the zoo, and the highlight for them was discovering a slide inside the otters' tank. It brought immense joy to see them having a blast interacting with the playful otters. Cameron Zoo is a fantastic place for families to explore and create lasting memories.

Hazel Yanes — Google review

We took our grandchildren here for the weekend. It exceeded our expectation as we have traveled and been to larger cities zoos. Price, all the different animals, plenty of shade ,well kept area and very informative. We definitely enjoyed it and will return.

Annette Bryant — Google review

What an awesome zoo for young kids. We loved every minute but the highlights were the big cats and the otter slide. Also note the coffee from the food truck just inside was really good. We will definitely be back

Sharon Casey — Google review

Wow! The setup is great for visitors and animals. The habitats are nice and clean for the animals. The walkways are mostly shaded making summertime visits so much more pleasant, with lots of vending machines and benches for breaks, and plenty of clean restrooms. We had lunch near the splash pad. The indoor exhibits were air conditioned and odor-free. The entire area is covered with trees so shade is plenty. They even have strollers for kids and mobility vehicles for adults at the entrance to the park. We took our time walking through the zoo, spending around 4 hours, that includes a stop for lunch. For me, this is the nicest zoo in Texas! The kids loved every minute of it. We'll be back soon!

Justin Steadman — Google review

We took our son to Cameron park zoo for his very first zoo visit! At first we were worried about the heat with our 11 month old but there are plenty canopys, indoor cooled exhibits to visit along the whole zoo. We were also very grateful for the nursery pods, playground and splash area for a good spot to stop and decompress. It was very quiet and not too busy, food truck options and a cafe(we didn’t check out). A lot of the habits could be easily seen from the walking paths so it was easy to see the animals up close. We live an hour away but will most likely visit again!

jennifer house — Google review

We spend our afternoon in Cameron park zoo Waco Texas and it was definitely worth it. They have lots of exhibits and all the animals, birds, reptiles are so fun to watch. Definitely bring your kids here. Worth the prize. Takes about 3 to 4 hours if you want to spend at least 5 to 10 mins in an exhibit. The only negative I have to say is about the cafe. It was horrible. They only serve pizza as whole and not by slice. The pizza also tasted horrible. It was not good. They dont have many options either for vegetarians other than cheese pizza or grilled cheese. I mean I wish we got it by the slice.Rest of it was really good.

Gayathri Iyer — Google review

We loved this zoo. Maybe because it was a quiet Monday after the rain, but also because you can do a loop from start to finish. We really had such a great time and my kids wanted to stay longer which is always a great sign.

Brigitte K. Neves — Google review

We love the zoo. We go all the time. I got a pass and we use it to go most weekdays, even if it’s just for a few minutes. It’s a safe place to walk with the kids, all stroller friendly, lots of shady paths. Very convenient.

Abby Keeney — Google review

Fun zoo, lots of space but thought there would be more animals. My family drove from the DFW area and the first issue we encountered was parking. We arrived around 12:30 pm on a Sunday, so if you are traveling with anyone that might have a little trouble walking I recommend getting there right when they open to get a handicap spot. My parents are both handicapped and we ended up having to park about a block and a half away from the zoo entrance and walk. It's a large zoo, you basically walk in a big circle but large sections were closed due to remodeling. We did see giraffes, one elephant, two rhinos, three giant tortoises, two female lions, a few orangutan monkeys, a capybara, a bald eagle, lots of birds, and a few other types of animals! It was a great visit just for the size of the zoo in my mind we were going to see more. There is a nice play area for toddlers and young children.

Sarah Farison — Google review

This place is a great zoo. My daughters and I have a great experience here. We went in the fall where the weather are like 65 degree and sunny. Cool weather makes it so nice to walk around. This sightseeing zoo is the most beautiful thing with the bamboo all around atmosphere. Very roomy, spacious, playground area, lots of restrooms area around zoo. These animals are active and moving. Pacing back to forth. Most zoo I went, animals are lazy and just sit, laid, sleeping, or inactive. This zoo is shade all around. Lots of animals to see. I think the animals are trained to walk around in that small habitat that they live in. There's a small aquarium and reptiles room too. Over all it's awesome zoo. One thing for sure is, don't wear anything but comfy shoes. It's huge... Wear comfortable shoes to walks in. Not too crowded. We didn't get to see the elephant that was labeled. We saw a very nice variety of animals though. I'm very satisfied with the outcome of this zoo have. I'm likely to returned after they get the penguin area. I'm looking forward to this day. Whenever that is.... Thank you for reading my reviews. If you like or find it helpful, give me a thumb up and like and follow me.

annie le — Google review

If you have a pass that covers area museums and parks, the zoo may not be covered any more. But other than that it is a nice zoo. A nice collection of exhibits and pretty clean. Lots of vultures.

Andrew Prather — Google review

A very enjoyable trip to the zoo. A beautiful location to walk around and look at all of the exhibits with animals. My children loved the interactive nature of the exhibits and especially the large playground for the kids to play on. Our favorite moment was when the lion roared right in front of the glass and rubbed its face against the glass. Amazing! The zoo seemed clean and well kept.

Jenny Borter — Google review

Once the animals were out it was great! Cooler temps kept some of the animals from being out. (Understandably, temps must be above 48F for tropical animals to be let out. I wish these animals' indoor enclosure were viewable during these times.) We enjoyed all of the animals and the beautiful landscaping.

Terri West — Google review

Recently visited the Cameron Park Zoo and was shocked at how filthy it was. I understand zoos are smelly. But this place had bird poop everywhere because of all the vultures that have taken over. And there were discarded plastic tarps in some of the enclosures…including some with animals in them; which seems like a safety issue for the animals. Beyond the uncleanliness, it was really a sad zoo. Only one elephant, which is too bad, because elephants are incredibly social animals and need to be in a pair or trio. And the one bear they have is clearly not well mentally. The poor thing was pacing back and forth in a 6 foot pattern, clearly distressed. Same with the tiger. I would not support this zoo. Honestly, it would be better for the animals and the public if it would close.

Bridge

Sights & Landmarks

The Waco Suspension Bridge is a long-standing icon of the city, spanning the Brazos River and connecting Martin Luther King Park on the east side with Indian Spring Park on the west side. The bridge is open to both pedestrians and cyclists, making it a popular spot for a romantic date night or for simply taking in the sights and sounds of this historic river town.

The suspension bridge itself is closed for the time being due to construction. But the area around it is still open and is just as beautiful! There are still many places to take a nice walk and there is also other bridges.

Beccie Riley — Google review

Note that the bridge is still closed, although the work is expected to be completed this year. November is just days away and I seriously doubt if it will be available for the public to enjoy in 2022. The promenade is a nice place to burn some calories after dinner but be prepared, there are swarms of mosquito.

LS fanatic — Google review

Historic bridge with a nice park around it. There's an observation platform nearby for photos on the river, the Doris Miller memorial and a Vietnam veterans memorial among other things to see. More than just a bridge.

Mike Vollmer — Google review

Very nice peaceful place for the 1st time here and enjoyed myself. Yet the day was super hot it read 102° that was there for like 1 hour about 5ish left and returned abt 8ish was still hot but a bit breezy. Nice place to take some pics and just sit and soak in the sun. Nice history on this, too. You will enjoy and I think they also have kayaks for rent. Not sure how much but I know they do and the lake cruise as well.

Miatha Pizana — Google review

very beautifully restored bridge. love fishing there feeding the ducks and just overall a good place to bring the family for a nice walk. events and more it's also surrounded by lots of local restaurants and fun things to do as it is literally right downtown.

Lovely place for a nice long walk, there’s nature too! Some of the hiking nearby is actually really wooded which we enjoyed! It’s stunning here

Siddharth Sinha — Google review

The suspension bridge is currently closed due to construction, but we were able to walk through the park area down to the river where you can see the bridge pretty well.

Brandon Barrett — Google review

One time visiting on my way of heading to Austin. I think it’s good to see the bridge and get some refresh at the riverside. At that time, i just wanted to stop by a park beside the river to take a break from my long way driving, but i found this historic bridge by chance. Lucky, I like it! 😉👍This beautiful creature reminds me New York in someways.

This is a historical place in waco. It has great look and a good place for afternoon walk. It is located in the downtown waco. The river looks very attractive from the bridge. This bridge shares history of this old town. There’s a hiking trail beneath it which goes up to the Cameron park and named as river trail. Parking and restrooms are available. Attaching both day and night views of the bridge.

Sadia Disha — Google review

Such a cool piece of history. Bridge built in 1870 and updated and maintained by Waco. Cool sculptures as you enter with markers and a great smooth place to walk. Even works for those with walkers or wheelchairs. It's a great place for visitors and locals to hang out and enjoy the sights.

David Bailey — Google review

Was closed due to construction but it appears to be a beautiful walk over the Brazos when open. Some of the "Branding the Brazos" statuary are outside of the construction area. This is ordinarily open during the evening but I wouldn't feel safe with the restrooms being occupied with homeless people. Looks like a gathering. No hate here, simply concerned as a tourist.

Excellent place to relax and discover some of not only Waco's but American history.. the area has become exponentially more popular in recent yr and don't look to slow with the post tornado redevelopment of downtown and the historic Elm St corridor.. so come on and have a relaxing afternoon and learn something about Waco or Texas you might not of known... ❤️💯

Chris Elmore — Google review

Nice place for evening strolling at the edge of downtown Waco. There is an history involved with this bridge that I found interesting and hence attached in the photos. This bridge is no longer used for traffic rather it’s open for visitors. It connects to the riverwalk through stairs as well as ramps. Bridge entrance is nicely adorned with sculptures which makes this place more attractive. Free street parking available and restaurants are just around the corner. I don’t remember any restroom onsite but there is a picnic spot and restroom just 5 minutes walk down the riverwalk near Doris miller monument.

Taofiq Hasan — Google review

This bridge is awesome. The views are so beautiful and it feels good to walk on the bridge. Me and my husband went for walks on the bridge and back through another bridge next to it. They also have a beautiful trail down the bridge that has amazing views and is so peaceful to walk. Glad we decided to stop by . They also have beautiful sculptures of Longhorns that are so artistic.

Gayathri Iyer — Google review

Very attractive walking bridge, a good spot for photos and fresh air! You can park your car on the street that is running along the river. In front of the bridge you'll find some statues of cows and cowboys. Also there is a nice walking area nearby the bridge on both shores of the river. The bridge itself is now used by pedestrians only, but it is quite wide, in good state and give a nice views to the water, other bridges and river shores. I very enjoyed my stop here

Mikhail Badylevich — Google review

Completed in 1869 (That's not a typo. 1869.), the bridge crosses the Brazos River in Waco. A major undertaking at the time due to Waco's remote location, it was considered to be a marvel of engineering. More than 3 million bricks make up the twin double towers. The cables that make up the bridge were brought in by wagons. The first suspension bridge in Texas, it was built to be wide enough for stagecoaches to pass each other. Or for cattle to cross on one side of the bridge while pedestrians crossed on the other. Yes, as the only bridge over the Brazos, Waco was a critical stop on the Chisholm Trail that was used to drive cattle to the railroads. There have been no tolls to cross the bridge since 1889. It has been open to vehicles, stagecoaches, and cattle until 1971 when it was reduced to pedestrians and bicycles only.

When I visited, there was a cute high school couple asking his partner for prom. Good place to walk and wander around. Be careful thou a few homeless people around.

It is a beautiful park, we like to come often to do different recreational activities

In the Shadow of the Waco TX Suspension Bridge lies a quiet little park dedicated to a larger than life American Hero, Doris Miller, a Waco Native. It's a beautiful Memorial and will or should jerk a tear from the pit of humanity to see such a young life lost to a war he didn't create.

The Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum preserves important artifacts and photos from the history of Texas Rangers, as well as educational programs on the agency's rich history.

This was not my first time to the museum, however it has been at least 20 years. Never disappoints always interesting, new displays and added artifacts. Traveling through Waco in traffic, do yourself a favor, stop and learn about the Texas Rangers. You can sit in traffic later. This was my dad's favorite museum and we were a family that hit every museum in the area of wherever we were.Loved the selection of the gift shop too.The visitors bureau is on the premises too.. don't drive through Texas, stop and learn about Texas.See ya' down the road.

First time here. If you're interested in the Texas Rangers or just Texas and U.S. history, you'll enjoy the displays here. There is an optional 40 minute documentary about the Rangers. Even if you're just into historic guns, you'll like it here. They have one of the automatic rifles used to take down Bonnie and Clyde. The display of historic badges is amazing. Give yourself 45 minutes to an hour for a self-guided tour and don't forget the gift shop at the end. I highly recommend this museum and I'll be coming back.

David Bailey — Google review

A place to learn about Rangers origin, development and their importance in Texas history. There is a lot of interesting data to learn. The museum has a lot of information to read and also objects to see. If you like to read information, you can spend easily more than two hours. In my opinion, this museum is more enjoyable for adult public because historical information could be a little dense for kids, but objects are great. There is a room where they run a 45 minutes documental that it is included with your admission. It is worth it to see it. During my visit, the documetal started after I saw all the museum so, I was able to rest a little.

Julysblue — Google review

Had alot of fun here with the kids. They enjoyed learning and reading about everything and doing the scavenger hunt. The pistols you could pick up and feel and take apart were a very nice touch! Take a trip out here and enjoy reading about everything and seeing the exhibits.

Today was my first time visiting the Museum and I had a great time and learned alot. Really enjoyed the history of the Rangers and how it transitioned to present times. Alot of great stuff to see and read, such as firearms and sections about Bonnie and Clyde. The Hall of Fame section was very well done. I would definitely recommend coming to the museum.

Andrew Carlisle — Google review

If you like guns, rangers and learn about them this is great place. They had so much information on how rangers came into existence and various types of guns they used. They also had a documentary on rangers which was really informative. The whole place will take about 3 hours. If you want to read everything about guns then add more time. The tickets are not expensive at all just 10 per adult and they do have discounts too.The guns the rangers used are beautiful. They also have a beautiful gift shop. My husband really enjoyed it. We are planning on bringing my father in-law here too as he loves Texas Rangers.

Incredible history of a storied profession. My grandparents neighbor, Glen Elliott is enshrined there. I really enjoyed seeing his career on display. Great man!

For the western US history lover, this place is a real gem. Since their inception in 1823 to present they have been known for their integrity, bravery and energy. These guys are and have always been, the real deal. Lawmen to the core, and we appreciate them! They fought hostiles at first, and then in time, became a law enforcement org. They're the men in the white hats...the good guys! Love history? You'll love this place.

Karl Hanel — Google review

Had a great time going through the museum.Tins of displays and an awesome video on the Texas Rangers.Four gentlemen in period costumes representing 4 different eras, explained how the Rangers operated in each period.A great experience for all ages.

What a fun experience here. We enjoyed looking at all of the historical pieces like guns and boots etc. The film they ran was really educational! I learned a lot! Definitely a place to check out if you're in town.

Tami Korum — Google review

The museum is very well organized, with every item of history in the areas properly related to its point in time. The interior is beautiful and structured proper, giving room for information to be put on the walls in a viewable location. Each item has its own interesting backstory and provides context put into understandable sentences.I had some confusion with the building the museum was located in. The woman at the front desk of the Waco Welcome Center quickly and clearly told us where to enter, which is the large building to the left. Tickets were 10$ for adults ages 13 to 59, 8$ for seniors 60 and over, and 4$ for children 6 to 12, with 5 and under given free entry. They also do military/law enforcement discounts, with military being 8$ and law enforcement being 6$.Overall, great museum if you’re looking to dive deeper into the Texas Rangers’ history!

If you like museums, history and everything about rangers, that’s a great museum to visit in Waco. Very interesting, informative, well organised and full of facts, paintings and pictures about rangers in Texas. No need to buy tickets in advance, not crowded, spacious. Absolutely recommend to visit. Adult ticket price is 10 dollars and kids till 12 years old 4 dollars each.

A museum that captivated my attention.Such a large display of beautiful custom engraved weapons along with antique arms and criminally modified ones. From their beginnings (which I had no clue of) to today's law enforcement. The good Rangers and the bad Rangers. From tracking criminals to their captures or demise.Plan on watching the movie and spending a couple hours or more.

Historical landmark

The Dr Pepper Museum is an American history museum based in Waco, Texas, that specializes in the history and memorabilia of soft drinks. The museum has a collection of over 4 million items related to the soft drink industry, including soda bottles, advertisem*nts, and equipment from pre-dating Coca-Cola by one year. The museum also features exhibits on the economics of the soft drink industry as well as how it has shaped American culture.

LOVED the museum! So much to see and learn. The staff was great. The gift shop and soda fountain area was our favorite! The kids loved that they got to make their own soda and create new flavors! It was a great experience.

Myra Hernandez — Google review

I LOVED this place. As a native Texan, raised on the only soda there is, this museum was Awesome! There are three floors of Dr Pepper memorabilia. There is also a soda fountain and interactive workshops. The Make-a-Soda was very fun(do recommend buying advanced tickets for this and the Taste-a-Soda) The gift shop was great. You can take home everything from shirts, hats, and magnets to the original Dr Pepper itself. Also, every paid admission receives a free Dr Pepper or $1 off the floats.

Super Place to take a break from driving for a few hours. Much more to see and do than we expected. Try the Taste-a-soda... We got 0 right but had a great time with Gale anyway. My kids 16&14 actually enjoyed the whole place. Don't miss the Dr. Pepper floats. Seriously.... Don't miss them.

Kathryn Whitmore — Google review

Great place to visit. Enjoyed touring the museum. It has 3 floors filled with Dr Pepper stuff plus adjoining buildings with a gift shop & small cafe. Plus it is only about 2 blocks away from the famous Magnolia Complex of Chip & Joanne fame.

Mike Travelling — Google review

$10 to enter per person. You get a voucher for a small Dr Pepper at the end or $1 off at the gift shop. Everything a Dr Pepper lover will enjoy. From the humble begins to present day, this is a cool place to visit. Lots of picture taking opportunities here. Some exhibits are hard not to touch as they state not to touch. A place to see after the Magnolia Silos in Waco.

Carlos Gonzalez — Google review

This place was pretty cool. Way more interesting than I thought it would be. It has the expected history, cans and bottles and old advertisem*nts. But there's also flavor chemistry, manufacturing stuff, the flops like celery soda and new co*ke. Lots of reading, don't expect to be wowed by loud music and flashing lights. Ten bucks. 2 buildings.

Fun museum on the history of Dr. Pepper. Three floors to explore and lots of cute photo ops in the museum. Soda fountain was a fun way to end, and some of the soda choices are included with the $10 admission ticket, or you can get $ 1 off other options, including floats. Taste-A-Soda and Make-Your-Own-Sodas you can add on for an extra $5 and $10 per person. Both are very fun and memorable experiences. Pogo pass Dallas includes the admission ticket, and you can usually find promos for a discount on the Pogo pass.

Excellent museum! Kids love Dr. Pepper and on our way to Dallas we stopped and it was awesome experience! Very neat to read and see the history of the drink, various photos, equipment, tools, first bottles and more! At the end tried the float and was tasty! Kids loved it! Recommended it!

Definitely an experience to share!!! There was a lot of information about the Dr. Pepper company, how it was made, where it came from and even where it is now. If you have an afternoon, Definitely check it out!!! Don't forget to get your free drink or dollar off of a float! (Which I recommend!)

Samantha Landzettel — Google review

I don't think just anybody would be as excited by this museum as we were, but we are so glad we stopped! It's not World of Coca-Cola (Atlanta), but isn't trying to be, and that's what we loved! It's a small, non-profit museum in an historic building telling a story about the rise of soft drink, the bottling processes, the employee experiences, the international expansion, the power of marketing, and the passion of one of Dr. Pepper's most devoted CEOs-W. W. "Foots" Clements. My 16 year-old said he preferred it to World of co*ke (though that was about 4 years ago). That may have also partly been because it's smaller size and cheaper ticket meant we only spent about 2 hours and didn't burn out the kids. Mom and I had been through here almost 20 years ago and were shocked how much it seemed to have grown. If it was there before, we missed the 7-Up section and soda jerk / soda floats completely before, but not this time!Who SHOULD visit? I'd say it is definitely better for someone who is interested in soda pop (or history in general), willing to do a lot of reading, and doesn't require hands-on exhibits to stay occupied. A bit of nostalgia helps, too, whether you're of the "10, 2, and 4" era or "Wouldn't you like to be a Pepper, too?" Now, time to go try a hot Dr. Pepper...

We highly enjoyed the Dr. Pepper Museum. Lots of cool things on display.Good history of the company and it's employees. I enjoy the trucks on display a lot. The staff was very friendly. It's worth the $10 to get in. My whole family enjoyed the museum. Easy to get to off of I-35

We honestly hit this up due the proximity to magnolia market. It was a cute hidden gem that does show a unique way of preserving the history of the Dr Pepper company. All of the antique signage and marketing pieces were great to look at. You won’t need to reserve admission tickets in advance but it you’re interested in either the Make A Soda or Taste a Soda experiences I would def buy these in advance.

A very interesting place to visit- no idea this even existed! We had a great time going through the building that had such history. This happens to be my youngest son's favorite drink. We enjoyed looking through the different eras of production of this American institution. We were glad to be there and of course go to the gift shop for souvenirs to bring back to California. A great family environment and one that we hope to visit again.

Angelita F — Google review

A nice museum that exhibits the origin and the history of an alternate drink among the other familiar drinks !Home of Dr.Pepper is a nice architectural piece. The museum store gives the choices for the souvenirs, and an on site quick bite restaurant with indigenous drink gives an opportunity to spend some time relaxing. No car parking in site. Paid lots and street parking are available nearby.

T RS — Google review

Really well done museum with a complete history of Dr Pepper. The place is right next to the Silos in Waco making it very convenient for multiple experiences in one day.The staff were friendly and helpful. The only negatives were the tables in the malt shop were not cleaned regularly and the gift shop is over priced. However, if you are a fan of Dr Pepper, you will love the experience.

"I'm A Pepper", so of course I had to visit the Dr. Pepper Museum while in Waco! :-) There are 3 floors packed with memorabilia inside of a 1906 bottling plant. There's so much to take in and interact with that I recommend giving yourself at least an hour to get through it all. One of my favorite things about this museum was a "theater" where you can sit and watch all of the Dr. Pepper commercials! The "I'm A Pepper" commercial is my favorite, but my goodness, I heard it in my head over and over for the rest of the tour. :-)Then there's the gift shop and the soda fountain, complete with a "soda jerk", so plan on an extra hour of two after enjoying the museum. Grab a free Dr. Pepper (best ever) or get a dollar off a Dr. Pepper Float on your way out.My friend, Nicole, thought the sign that read "Tip your Jerk" was awfully rude, until I explained that Soda Jerk is the actual title of the sweet lady who poured our DP! :-D(If you love Dr. Pepper like I do, grab a bag of Dr. Pepper Cotton Candy while your there!)I absolutely recommend making time to visit the Dr. Pepper Museum if you're ever in or near Waco, Texas! I loved it!

Lisa Marie — Google review

What a cool experience! So much history at the Dr pepper museum. History of sparkling water, mineral water, Dr pepper, and all kinds of other soda's. Museum also had pictures and information about the tornado of 1953 that destroyed a large portion of Waco. Museum tour includes a fountain drink as well. So much history here. Great way to cool off indoors and learn about the history of soda! Definitely recommend this place.

Rebekah Johnson — Google review

Love it!!! Definitely a great experience for a Dr.Pepper fan or really any soda fan! Did the taste testing and make your own soda exhibits that were so fun to do. Book in advance!! Great photo ops too and awesome gift shop. The virtual tour was kind of hard to follow and not really up to date with the museum, so it would be great if you could update it and not make it a video but audio only

Sabrina Williams — Google review

We enjoyed the museum. There was a lot of really neat stuff from all over the world. Some interactive exhibits. The science lab was fun! The snack shoppe was a great atmosphere.

Andrea Fortner — Google review

This was a really neat place to visit. We loved the Make-a-Soda class. Some of the items in the gift shop are pretty expensive (a medium-sized puppy was $30) so beware, but overall, it was a cool experience for kids.

Mary Mitchell — Google review

Amazing museum! LOADS of history everywhere you turn, but if you're "A Pepper," it's a lot more interesting! There are also a couple of experiences to participate in for just a little extra $.There's an old fashioned soda bar where you can get a DP and/or ice cream float. Of course, there's also a gift shop. Really fun place!

Jenny LaFon — Google review

Having too much fun making my own soda today!!! 😍So much fun!!! Make your own flavored soda for $10!! You have 3 tries. Raspberry, lime and 7up combo is good :) you can ask for separate cups and mix and match on your own!! You can also get a free drink at the end or get $1 off menu items (get 2 scoops of ice cream for $4 or a root beer float for $5). Fun for kids and adults, good family activity to do if you're visiting!

Rita L — Google review

Lots of fun if you like to visit museums. Me and my husband decided to visit it and absolutely loved it. It was so much fun finding out how they bottled, what inspired them to start fizzy drinks and we absolutely loved the ads created old times to advertise Dr Pepper outside. They also have a make your own soda lab which we couldn’t make it on time but looked like so much fun. The best was they served hot Dr Pepper. It was so good.

Gayathri Iyer — Google review

It was a nice to see the history or Dr. Pepper. They even had cans and bottles from other countries. It cost $10 to get in but it also came with a voucher for a free fountain drink or a discount on a souvenir cup. They also had a penny machine where you can make a Dr. Pepper penny for $0.51. I recommend you go early so you can try their soda maker we went later in the day and it was already closed.

Gemini Stokes — Google review

I love (and am slightly addicted to) Dr Pepper and made a special day trip from Dallas to Waco, just to go to the museum! The history is fascinating and I loved all the displays. The line for the free drink was super long and I'd packed my own bottle of Dr Pepper Cherry for the road, so I didn't wait in line. The Make a Soda and Taste a Soda were booked by the time I arrived, but it looked fun and interesting! There's a lot of exclusive items available in the small gift shop. I might have spent a small fortune 🤣

Kati Hatfield — Google review

A cool little walk through with the entire history of Dr Pepper from beginning to present day!! When you buy the $10 general admission walk through you also get a hand made Dr Pepper at the end of the tour. I also recommend buying tickets in advance for the Dr Pepper tasting and the make your own soda experience. They usually are sold out by the day of so buying in advance is a good thing. Overall a really cool experience. $10 parking was available across the street from the museum.

J W — Google review

We really enjoyed our visit. There are lots of interesting marketing things to see, and the history is pretty cool. Value wise, I think the extra experiences are overpriced. We paid $30 for a quick 20 minute make your own soda. I think a fair value would be half or make general admission $15 and include the experience. I think it would also be cool to make a professional label instead of one you write in with a sharpie. That being said, the folks running the experience were super awesome and did an outstanding job. If you are in the area, I recommend stopping. Lots of good photo opportunities.

edward saiz — Google review

Fun place, close parking on the street, and reasonable price to get in. Went with my family for a little outing and everyone seemed to enjoy the atmosphere. The reason I gave four stars is because you are given a bracelet at entry to receive a free drink at the end of seeing the museum. You pass a gift shop then a big area where drinks and shakes are made ( the bracelet is for a drink only ), well both the gift shop and drink area where unbelievably packed! We decided to pass up the drink and leave.

Sarah Farison — Google review

I’ve been a fan of Dr Pepper for more than 20 years now and I’m glad I got to visit Mecca! So cool to learn the history of not only my favorite drink but as an entrepreneur it was awesome to learn about the company!I was nervous that this wouldn’t be a good place for my kids but there was plenty of fun activities for them! I would definitely visit again the next time I find myself in Waco.

Nature & Parks

Park

Texas's first state park, with woodland trails, a limestone river basin & prairie, plus campsites.

I love this park! So much fun stuff to explore, wildlife always present, cute and fun stickers/memorabilia, easy to use map, and the workers have always been nice! You can camp and utilize their playgrounds in between trails, and their bathrooms retain a 4/5 (or higher!) stars for cleanliness every time I've come through.

Isabella Carruth — Google review

First of all I'm a huge fan of all Texas State Parks! Mother Neff is definitely one of the quaintest. The restrooms and showers are very clean and nice. The RV spots looked lovely as well. The hiking is limited, but I knew this before I went. I was actually able to get 5 miles out of it combining all the trails and with a little bit of backtracking at times. The entrance to the park is gorgeous as well.

Cassandra Atwood — Google review

Super park with nice shaded trails. Tower, pool, and a cave. Campsites, showerhouse and headquarters look brand new.

Greg — Google review

Beautiful hike. We parked at Wash pond and hiked all the way to the caves, the tower around the bluffs and back and it took about 1.8, MI. It's very Rocky and there are some ups and downs so I would consider this a moderate hike. Make sure you wear good shoes. It's very clean and well maintained. This would be good for pretty much any age. And it's dog friendly.

Kimber Beck — Google review

I stopped here on the way from Austin to Dallas to take a quick hike and I’m definitely coming back. The trails are mostly well-groomed and there are lots of little interest points (eg the cave and the rock tower) and lovely little benches to rest and listen to the birds. For most of the trail, I give the park a B+ on trail marking, but they get a C+ for the Bluff Trail. I tried to find it from the Wash Pond trail, but the only signs I saw said “camping loop,” which isn’t on the map anywhere. If you’re looking for the Bluff Trail, just know that you get there on the camping loop. Fortunately, I had cell service so I was able to call the office and they helped me find the right trail. It was a minor blip, though. All in all, it was a very pleasant diversion from the otherwise boring drive to Dallas. Also, really nice bathrooms and very nice staff.

Amy Hunt — Google review

Wonderful spot, great kid sized trails, beautiful Prairie/wildflower trail in Spring. Don't miss it;) There are two little areas for kids to play also. Dogs on leash.

Krystal Grammer — Google review

Such a fun hike! I would consider it an intermediate trail. It was not exactly easy. The trail had lots of things to trip on (mostly rocks and roots). Hills and tons of stairs. If there is any rain or mud, I'm sure the trails are closed. If they do not close them, then I would not hike these trails. Super clean area. I will definitely be back! I parked at the cave and walked up to the old pool/wash pond and back...it was the perfect loop! Do not skip Bluff Trail! 😎 I have pointed out in the pictures attached the Bluff Trail that I thought was the prettiest of all the trails. Enjoy!!

Emily Glidewell — Google review

Our first visit & we loved it! We stayed in the campground-all full hookups. Looks brand new too, maybe recently redone? Park hosts/staff keep all the sites looking great; the best we have seen and we have stayed at 28 different Texas State Parks. Parking is level and the picnic, fire ring and tent area is raked and leaf/debris free (they literally rake and blow-off the sites after ever camper leaves). All the sites have trees and the restrooms area centrally located for all the campers.Access to the trail system is right off the camping area. There is a mostly open, flat and grass/dirt section and a rocky, shade-covered, hilly section. Of course you have the “cave” and tower to see along the way, and a couple cool ponds when the season is right (wet). Bird blind too.We will be back!

Very nice small park. Mother Neff State Park is the first State Park in Texas. The staff at the entrance were very knowledgeable, polite, helpful, and professional. The welcome building is nicely furnished with free maps and guides along with other items that are available for purchase.Trails are very well maintained and clear. A great place to bring children for a day trip. There are a few spots that are very rocky and maybe challenging for the young ones.Wildlife is there but if there are many people I doubt you will see any. Although I did see a Texas Coral Snake along the Bluff trail. There is camping with RV parking.Overall, a nice place for a day trip.

Charles — Google review

This definitely a very nice state park with plenty of shades while walking the trails! They offer some nice sites to see. The bathrooms are definitely nice with windows and a fan to help keep it somewhat cool in the heat. I recommend this state park and will be back.

Michelle L — Google review

This was a nice park. Great trails and great history. It's always fun walking around somewhere as important as the first State Park in Texas.I definitely recommend spending some time to explore the trails here.

Glorkar Floki — Google review

Mother Neff is a beautiful state park. We especially enjoyed the wash pond. It was so clear and the ecosystem beneath the water was clearly visible. We were also impressed with the education displays at the park headquarters. Thank you to all the hands and hard work that contribute to our awesome state parks!

Jasmin Hamilton — Google review

Beautiful campground with spacious, private sites. The grounds were immaculate during our visit and the staff/hosts super helpful. Nice hiking trails with lots of signage and maps available. A real hidden gem in central TX.

AJ C — Google review

Great place for family and novice campers. Camp sites are exceptionally well-maintained, the park staff and volunteers are unfailingly courteous and friendly (even when they have to tell you that you aren't compliant with park rules - by the way, please dont park on the gravel!), and plenty of interesting sites to visit within a short, easy hike.

Yvette Coulter — Google review

Really awesome hiking trails! My family had a great time. Will definitely come back to camp.

Brittany Gossett — Google review

We love going to the different state parks here in Texas and were blown away out how wonderful this little park is. The staff called ahead to check us in and make sure we knew how to get in and where to go since we were arriving after dark. The campsites are meticulously maintained and so roomy. We had no trouble at all backing our camper in. The trails are gorgeous and so easily accessible. It is truly a hidden gem and we will definitely be back!

Sarah Page — Google review

What a gorgeous state park in the late spring! All the wildflowers were blooming and we saw deer, caterpillars, a local cat and a skunk. We tent camped next to an RV and there was a nice gravel area, metal table and fire pit at each spot. Multiple short hikes & two playgrounds (one natural and one for slightly older kids based on swing & slide size). Clean restrooms and a quiet, serene setting.

Movie Theaters

Classic drive-in theater offering double features of first run movies & a snack bar.

We enjoy kicking back and enjoying an outdoor movie here! $10 per car load is inexpensive fun for the whole family. My family enjoys the different movie options and like that two moves are shown per night.

Quaint Family drive in. Low prices. One screen. Clean bathrooms. Small snack shop with all the snacks. The mini gulf needs a face lift but everything else there encompasses a perfect drive in experience.

Been going to the Drive-In for yrs. U can bring n your own food n drinks, like n the summer we take our little grill n make hot dogs or hamburgers on it while watching the movie.. Kids climb up n the back of our p/u w/ their chairs to watch, while we were sitting n our lawn chairs... It's nice to bring the whole family n it not cost us so much .. they have food there as well if u don't wanna cook or bring something... Come out n c for yourself....

This was the best little place. We brought snack from home so I’m not sure about the snack bar options, but the atmosphere was so great. Not overly crowded, the screen was clear, bring a portable radio for the sound. We loved it and will definitely be going back!

These folks were wonderful hosts for the 2024 eclipse. The facilities are clean, the snacks are very good, and the mini golf course was fun. Wish we could come back for a movie!

The audio sounded fine but the picture was terrible it was so dark you could barely see the actors faces. The way the spots are positioned if your in the back seat u can't see the whole screen cuz of the angle of the vehicle.

Jager Thuringer — Google review

Great little place! Fantastic pricing - I paid about $30 for a car, snacks and drinks! I don't think I get get close to that at regular theaters even on discount days. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. First ever Drive-In Movie experience and it will be one I will never forget! Highly recommend!

Serene Pierson — Google review

I love this drive in theater. This is perfect for getting out or getting the family out and not spending a fortune. The popcorn is reasonable, the food is all reasonable and the entry was $10/car. I am excited to go again.

Lisa Wiggin — Google review

My boyfriend took me here to see the new Minions movie The rise of Gru. I don't like leaving my dog at home and we were able to bring her also. It cost $10 for a car load. We got a great parking spot up close to the screen. The food was very reasonably priced! I got a large soda, extra large buttery popcorn, and nachos with cheese and jalapenos and it only cost $9.00. They also have pizza, hot dogs, all sorts of candy and some other things that I can't remember. The bathroom are kinda outdated but don't really feel it's fair to rate them on that. We go to see the movie not the bathrooms. I feel it shouldn't matter if it's a five star bathroom as long as the viewing of the movie is. Also they do at least keep them clean. The only problem we had was the car in front of us was parked backwards so they could sit in the back part of their van. They couldn't figure out at first how to turn their auto-headlights off with the van running. But my boyfriend helped them and the movie was great after that. À lot of people go there and have tailgate barbecues and bring their chairs and everything. It's a great place to bring kids also.

Stephanie Harvey — Google review

We enjoy coming here. Friendly and reasonable pricing. The indoor theater does need a good clean and some updating, but all in all it's a good place to go.

Anonymous Review — Google review

Nice little drive in. The cost is low and the movie selection is spectacular. You may want to bring a radio for the sound so you don't need to keep your on. Also be sure to be kind to others and turn off all your lights.

Bruce Chaput — Google review

My family absolutely loves this place and we will be coming more often during the summer. The food is reasonably priced there’s plenty of room for kids to run and play before the movie starts. The inside has a theatre. And there’s plenty of room to park. Next time we’ll be able to do the mini golf. The station to listen to the movie is 90.3 FM and it’s $10 a car. It’s great that they’re open every day of the year except for Christmas Eve unless otherwise posted. We enjoyed their movie selection as well.

Kari Urdi — Google review

Great place for the family. 2 movies for $10. Bathrooms and snack bar inside. Could use a little updating. Prices are fair. Listen to the movies from your car radio. Bring lawn chairs and a blanket for the ground. Pillows and blankets for a suv or truck. Get there first so you can pick your spot. Great hidden gem. We’ll be back

CTX Traveler — Google review

We enjoyed the drive-in movie! We got to watch 2 movies for a great price. Food was good and also reasonably priced, not like overpriced movie theater prices 🙌Great movie quality, and the audio came through clearly on the radio. We took an inflatable mattress to lay behind our car, with blankets to keep us warm.

Pretty nice tbhThe food was good the had a snack bar and the movie was good you can also see the stars pretty good so nice experience overall

Silverio Espinoza — Google review

It was good, my only thing is the butter for the popcorn wasn't my favorite. The sound for the movie was easy to hook up to. Tickets were cheap $10 for two people not sure if it was for one car or by person The people who ran it were nice as well

The Temple Railroad & Heritage Museum showcases local railway artifacts and exhibits, as well as equipment on the museum grounds. Visitors can also view an active rail yard from the premises. Despite being small in size, the museum is well-organized and has many interesting pieces that appeal to individuals of all ages. Additionally, there are engaging activities available for children and parents alike. The museum is wheelchair accessible and affordable, making it a great indoor outing option for families.

We enjoyed so much our visit to this museum! There is so much to see and learn about trains and their history here in Texas. They have old trains outside and a kids area for them to play. Highly recommend to visit this museum if you visit Temple, Tx.

Very nice clean place to enjoy alone or with family. The museum although quite small, is organized and has many interesting pieces for "kids" young and more mature. The museum also has a couple of really amusing activities for children and parents to partake in during their visit. ☆This museum is also wheelchair accessible and enjoyable. I highly encourage people to take their family members here as a short indoor outing that is also rather easy on the wallet. ENJOY!!!

It's not too big but there are interesting things to see. Love that there is a family day once a month, a free event that is super fun for the small ones... Girl scouts were visiting and astronomy and crafty things and all loads of fun and exiting things to do for the little ones. Check the event calendar to be able to join. Thank you organisers and volunteers for this lovely time.

Like being brought back in time, it's a must see if you enjoy old buildings still in great condition. You can see out lines of sea shells in the walls. Interesting since Oklahoma is in the middle of the United States.

Best place! Wish there were ghosts or some old people to tell us eyewitness accounts of how trains work. Love the museum!

There is a lot to learn and do here! It's a real Amtrak station, so passengers really do arrive and depart here. The museum has lots of information to learn from. The exterior has a large grassy space with picnic tables, gazebos, multiple playground spaces, stage area for live music, and a water fountain to run through. It is a great space for families!

What a great way to spend a couple of hours. The TR&HM has an amazing, interactive, and well thought out museum fun for all ages. My boys, 10 & 12 had a blast it was hard to leave.Outside you can check out the exterior of many train cars, but you can also go into an engine and a caboose. And less than 100 yards away is an epic outdoor playground. You won't be disappointed with a visit to the TR&HM.

Movie theater

Fun & Games

Dine-in multiplex with recliner seating, a gaming arcade & a bar serving American fare.

The toing lady that check me in was super nice. She tries to save me money in every way...it's been a while since I was pleased with the movie theater service!!God bless her. Was quite although it was spring break. We had the entire theater to ourselves!!

Queen Earline Brooks — Google review

Me, my wife, sister in laws come to this theater for EVERY slasher screening specifically for the TRIVIA and the collectibles. Tonight we came to see Tarrot, and the food was amazing as always however the trivia experience was horrible this time around. The members couldn’t communicate very well with the trivia screen, and were skipping through some questions, the noovie commercial started playing DURING the trivia so we couldn’t hear the crew member reading the questions and they couldn’t hear anyone’s answers clearly so everyone had unfair chances of winning, and the rule is FIRST ONE with their hands raised gets to answer the question NOT oh I want everyone to have a chance to answer when they’re not even raising their hands! Plus the theater is normally lit during trivia so they can SEEEEEE who had their hands up, it was DIM during ours my phone just adjusts to the dark. NOT pleased with this slasher screening night.

Grooms Automotive — Google review

Been here multiple times, the seats are comfy, food is great, staff is friendly! The arcade is a great plus for the kids and the drinks and axe throwing was fun date night for me and my wife. Kelly A. (Manager) took care of me and my wife when we were having trouble refunding tickets on the site the other day, She was great! We've never dealt with bad customer service here! Love it here!

Tia & Pete Aguon — Google review

This is my favorite movie theater in the area. I love their variety of food options and I like that they have an alcohol section now. The food always comes out hot fresh and yummy. My favorite are the ultimate sliders with fries (the fries are super crunchy). I have to admit the prices for food and drinks are pretty expensive, but that is to be expected from a movie theater. The lobby and restrooms are always clean. In my opinion it’s the best theater in this area.

Kimmielita — Google review

Seriously cool theater with a well stocked bar! Tables for each seat. Only thing that could make it better would be for normal meals delivered to my seat. I've had this at theaters before and it was a really cool feature.

We have gone a few times over the past 2 years and it has been a good experience. The seats are very comfortable and they have options for snacks and drinks.

Alexander Martin — Google review

This is easily the best theater within 50mi. Due to one simple fact, they serve beer!!The limit to 2/person seems silly. But I am German/Irish so maybe it's for the bestIt's a fun place to visit for axe throwing too! This has been clean theater everytime I've visited, and the staff has been friendly and service prompt !Add about 2 glasses to the beer limit, and this might be perfect

Maght Lozano — Google review

Comfortable seating, not crowded. Margaritas are good, but a bit pricey. Food was good, I discovered I don't like eating in the dark. Will eat up front next time.

Ramona Walters — Google review

Good movie theatre especially being the only one in town. Has an arcade, bar, and food service. I didn't try the food so I can't say how good or bad it is. They do have reclining seats but didn't see an IMAX screen here. One issue I did have while watching my movie (Five Nights at Freddys) was the movie projection not filling the whole screen.

Ricky Morales — Google review

Cove doesn’t have too many nice things but this theater is one of the best I’ve ever been to! Always clean, staff friendly, seats comfortable & food delicious! Bar is a plus. They have the virtual reality & axe throwing also. Knock off some time before your movie in the arcade. We love Cinergy in Cove!

Kait D — Google review

It's ridiculous how expensive this place is. And they don't take cash. You have to put your money in a machine and buy a gift card. Talk about inconvenient and time consuming. And you can't get an amount equal to what you're buying. A large popcorn is $8.50. But I had to buy a gift card for $10 so basically I paid $10 for a popcorn. You are getting 3 stars because of the wonderful people that work there. Very nice & they helped me buy the stupid gift card. Oh and the seats are very comfortable.

Susan Albertson — Google review

Great place, very nice, and lots of stuff to do. My only complaint is the prices are outrageous! They charge 54 dollars for just 3 kids and 1 adult ticket. Its 35 dollars for the same thing at Killeen Regal. They also charge a 9 dollar "convenience fee" whether you have an account with them or not. I used to enjoy this place, now you can't go see a movie with your kids without spending almost 150 dollars.

chris colorigh — Google review

Best movie theater around here. The food is great. They bring it to your seat. The seats are big and comfy you can recline in them as well. During summer it is a great place to go because the theaters are big and they have the AC blasting. They also have an arcade and tons of games to play.

Went to see Imaginary. The movie itself was not it. However, everything in the cinema & what they had to offer was.Signed up for the Elite membership which definitely has its perks - movie tix were free & food/drinks discounted. Great menu selection, quick service & clean, comfortable environment.

Rena T — Google review

The 2 Best part of this movie theater is the VR Battle Arena & the delivery service of food to your seats before your movie starts.

Amanda Rivera — Google review

This was super fun!! Me and my family went axe throwing and had the place all to ourselves. An hour was a perfect amount of time to go through all the axe games and do a few championships. The arcade wasn't so great, there wasn't a great game selection and what they did have was pretty pricey, $1-2 per game. But we still had fun!

Whitney Sweat — Google review

Packed on a Friday night for movies other than the one I've come to see. I'm good with it, though, because I actually prefer seeing a film without people breathing all around me after all, Covid is actually still around..This location is so much fun, though, for kids. They have a really nice game area and also have a really clean facility, which I greatly appreciate.

Lynn — Google review

Nice movie theater to go to. If you have kids with special needs, they have free movies every now and then that are sensory friendly. They also have a little arcade area with different games. When you order food they will bring it out to your seat!

This is a great little brewery/winery in Salado! We frequently visit here and Barrow (within walking distance) on the evenings and weekends. We love the free glass that you get when you do a beer or wine flight - and always bring visiting friends/family here to experience it. They have a large selection of beer on tap and wine to choose from to build flights, and often have live music. They are pet friendly also, which is a big plus for us!

Alexis Weldon — Google review

First time here. Walked in and with 4 people standing behind the bar we were not greeted or acknowledged. As one of the bar tenders walked by us we asked if we just sit anywhere and he muttered “yep”. So we sat and waited. After about 10 minutes we were about to get up and leave when one of the girls saw us and came over to tell us we have to go next store to order food but they can bring it here. At least she made an effort which is why I gave 2 stars instead of just 1. I guess I missed the sign coming in. We got up and went next door then decided it wasn’t worth the effort and we went to the Shed instead.

Brian Bownds — Google review

Super friendly with a great atmosphere. Always something happening with a fantastic selection of drinks and food.

Stan B — Google review

Great vibe and crowd. The bartenders were busy yet took time to chat and suggest drinks. Huge variety of beers, ciders and wines. I loved the mead, pineapple sour beer (it was like a mix of Guinness and fruity IPA.. real good) and a white wine I tasted. They offer wine tasting and flights. There’s great discount for wines on bulk. Will defo visit again.

Reshma Manohar — Google review

Went here for a burger. We came here when they first opened and we were not really impressed. But wanted to give them another try. There’s no ice for the fountain drinks, you think a restaurant/bar would have that fixed. The burgers were good, I couldn’t even eat all of it. The fries were crispy and hot.The restaurant side was not busy at 5 o’clock and it’s a little dark with its black and grey interior. Would definitely consider takeout next time.

Monica Poole — Google review

Great food and many kinds of beer on tap. I wish we could have stayed a bit longer to try them. The staff was friendly and told us about their weekly events like “open mike and karaoke.” I’m trying to talk hubby into visiting again tonight for open mike. (Fingers crossed) I love singing karaoke and look forward to joining them on karaoke night. I think we may have found a place that my hubby and I can have date nights closer to home.

I had a chicken salad and shared a large order of Brussels sprouts and chased it down with a flight of IPAs. Good food, great people, awesome atmosphere.

Roberto Silva — Google review

Great place to try a variety of beers/wines for an affordable price. There is plenty of seating. They have good specials on different days. Parking is plentiful and free. Employees are kind, friendly, and helpful. They sell a lot of different kind of merchandise as well.

Kelsey Contreras — Google review

Stumbled upon this place when passing through town. There are a lot more beer and wine options than what I was expecting from the outside. Just goes to show you can't always judge a book by it's cover. Chatted with the staff a bit. They were all friendly and knowledgeable. I can definitely imagine spending a lot of time here if I was a local. Thank you for making me feel welcomed as I was passing through

Kaitlin B — Google review

We ordered lunch next door at the Kitchen and then headed over to the bar for some beer and waited on our lunch. Huge selection of beer, wine, qmd ciders. Food was better than expected and for the price AWESOME! Zero complaints and we enjoyed everything. Highly recommend.

Mark Wilson — Google review

We love coming here. I have always recommended it to other people. Food is always great. My family and I went in today and when we were sitting at the table all you could hear was a loud girl in the back in the kitchen. She was laughing, cutting up and cussing so much. I had my three kids with me and seriously it was just so inappropriate. I went and told the person up front if they could tell her that everyone can hear her cussing in the lobby and to stop. I didn’t hear any cussing after that but she was still so obnoxious in the back. I seen a few other things that were questionable and because of that as well I don’t think we will be returning unfortunately.

Jessica Fingers — Google review

Mass quantities of beers from Texas breweries on tap in a fun and low key venue. Friendly staff and (sometimes) live music add to the mix. Like wine? Again, a satisfying large selection to pick from. Kitchen is available for chow if you're hungry. Swag for sale and free wi-fi, too. A good choice for a cold one in Salado.

Mark Otte — Google review

An extremely clean space with plenty of options to wet the whistle. The bartenders were personable and approachable. Overall great experience.

I come here when I'm staying the weekend at my dad's (he has land in Granger). This parish has been renovated and they did such an amazing job. It is absolutely beautiful! The stations are detailed and large, plenty of saints in various places (my confirmation saint is there, I've never seen a statue of her in a parish before) and the alter!! The alter is so elegantly decorated! The parishioners are friendly, as are the deacon and priest and the organist played amazingly well, like a professional. I wish I didn't live in Killeen.. I would make this my home parish. I was truly surprised at how few people attended the 1000 Mass, especially seeing as they only have Masses at 8 and 10 on Sunday. I guess it's just a small town.

Guided tours of a vast cave, from a standard tour to an exploration of undeveloped sections.

A literal hidden gem right off of I-35. There are three levels of tours. The Adventure is best for families with young children or those who aren’t interested in crawling into tight spaces. The Hidden tour is a medium challenge for anyone over age 7, and is the one we did. The Wild requires participants to be over 13 and involves crawling and getting into and through tight spaces. It looks amazing and we will come back and do it at another point (either when the kids are older or as an adult date). Our tour guide, Tawny, was friendly and very knowledgeable. The caves are really cool and the tour gets you to see a wide variety of formations and features. There is also an area above ground where you can buy bags or buckets of dirt pre-loaded with semi-precious stones, replica arrowheads, or fossils and then “pan” for your treasures in the sluice. My kids loved it. There’s also a small playground which is well maintained. We didn’t go on the zip line ride although it looked fun. Overall, highly recommended. Although the tours aren’t cheap, they are well worth the money and give you a good amount of time underground.

Liz Sweigart — Google review

This attraction has something for everyone. The cave is good-sized and has enough rooms to make for approximately a 1 hour tour. It features many enjoyable sites and formations. There is adequate parking out front and they provide restrooms in the lobby area so GO before you enter the cave. There is a charming gift shop and a small snack and lunch area that includes outdoor seating and a modest playscape. Many groups of schoolchildren go to this attraction regularly so expect a crowd of kids. The tour guides are knowledgeable and can answer most any question. Unfortunately, this attraction is not for the mobility challenged... The cave floor is uneven with lots of slopes, bumps and slick areas.

Mark Otte — Google review

We went on the one hour tour that goes about a mile. It was raining outside and the cave was the perfect place to spend time during the storm. They have a coupon on the website for save $1. Also they have a turtle and zip line outside. Our guide was awesome, wish I remembered her name. She shared lots of great facts about the cave discovery and told stories about the formations inside. Fun and great activity for all ages.

Emily Price — Google review

What am amazing place!!! The map on the wall was so detailed and made me want to explore the cave. It was fun to see the seated zipline outside before we made our way inside. So many interesting fossils and bone specimens. Very impressive.Great selection of souvenirs and gifts!!!The snacks and drinks looked very inviting although we didn't have any as we had already had lunch.Definitely a great tour for the whole family!!!!

Brenda Mark — Google review

This was a very interesting place with a very good guide that was very knowledgeable able the caves. She had an answer for everyone questions. I would recommend this tour which was great for all ages. This is a walking tour and sometimes it can be very steep and slippery so where good shoes and be ready for a hour long hike inside a beautiful cave. I recommend this tour it was very informative and beautiful.

G Kawa — Google review

Great tour which takes about an hour. No strollers are allowed and low ceilings in places make it tough to bring little ones. If it's tough for your kid to keep their voices low, not touch things, or plan out a bathroom visit before the tour then you reconsider the appropriateness of the visit for your family. My daughter (8) says it was great because the tour guide pointed out a lot of interesting things. My son (6) says it was great because there was a lot of stuff you wouldn't normally see.

David Rainey — Google review

We had a blast going here. We did the 1 mile walk into the cavern. Our tour guide had a great personality and made it really fun and educational. We will definitely go back. Next time I want to do the long one where you get to crawl through the smaller holes.

Ray Lambert — Google review

Great place for kids. The guided tour was great, informative and fun! The last part of experiencing pitch black darkness was amazing! And the kids were amazed to see a few rocks that can reflect light in the dark!

Hhimanshu Joshi — Google review

Amazing cave structures can be seen here.I did the hidden adventure tour which involved some nice paths, not too tight. It was very cool and educational. The air was a bit cooler and a whole lot more humid down below. Our guide was good, she shared some things and made family appropriate jokes.Overall the tour was about an hour and a half long. The wait was about an hour. Its worth a visit, especially if caves are your thing.

Dan Stewart — Google review

Great smooth trail for a cave. Lots of formations. Steep trail in places, no wheeled vehicles allowed. Hand rails, must be able to walk 1+ miles. Easy for cave walks, medium difficulty as for a hike. 72° F year round, humid, bring water. Backpack not needed, camera and backup flashlight are nice to have. Most of the trail was lit.

Sarah Wagstaff — Google review

An absolutely amazing and informative tour, including the history of the discovery, of the caverns and their importance to both the geological and paleontological records, as well as a nesting place for the local bat colonies. Our two teens were fully engaged, and are now keen to explore other cave systems in central Texas.Special shout out to Rachel, our tour guide par excellence! She has a great gift for making the tour a memorable experience!

George Popa — Google review

Great time with the family and really a great way to get out of the hot hot hot Texas heat! Our host Leroy was very witty and kept us engaged throughout the tour. Highly recommend!

Sam Menist — Google review

Great fun, but go when it is less crowded. They do tours every 20 min, but they are 30 person max. I first arrived, like an idiot, at 1:30pm on a Saturday, probably their busiest time. We would have had to wait till 3:40 for a tour. Luckily, we were going to be going by again on Monday. We went Monday morning, and it wasn't crowded at all. The cave being cool is a nice break from the summer heat, too. You don't need hiking boots, but some nice shoes with socks that get good traction certainly help.Overall I love this place. I have been 3 or 4 times, and went again today to take my son for his first time.

Mike Brock — Google review

The Adventure tour was great for our family reunion activity today. Our tour guide was great and made sure to wait for everyone to talk about each spot. We even had our grandmother with us and she did not have trouble keeping up. The ramp back up is a climb though.

Jesse S — Google review

More about money than conservation, and a big wait for them to up-sell photos in the initial area of the cave. Some beautiful cave rooms, but overall experience was low compared to other caves in the area. First, the tour groups are relatively huge, and tours were packed in closely after another, so we were frequently passing another group, too. This made for a very noisy trek and some people were touching what they could reach while the guide was a long distance away "guiding" the first few people and seldom waiting for the rest of the group. It might be good for taking younger kids, but adults that don't like experiencing a cave while dodging a bunch of other people and louder than an 8th grade auditorium.... Probably a pass.

Taf Fishy — Google review

I've been wanting to visit this cavern for years and finally had the chance to do it. I was not disappointed.😁💓Parking is free and easy to get in and out of. They have a gift and snack shop in the guest area and the restrooms are very clean. They offer active duty, veteran and retired discounts as I'm sure a senior discount as well....be sure to ask for this. Tours run often and the tour guides are very knowledgeable about the cave and ready to answer any questions.💪The cavern itself is AMAZING. It stays nice and cool throughout the year. The rock formations are incredible and the passageways are fun to travel thru. The lighting inside make the formations come alive and the views of each "room" are spectacular. It's quite a treat to see what nature has carved after millions of years.👍There are a ton of restaurants and hotels within the general area. This was well worth the drive from Houston.🚗

Henry A. Rodriguez — Google review

Great experience. Awesome caves with an easy path with hand rails and mats for safety. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the caves and their history. We took the Adventure tour, but will return to do the Hidden Passage tour on our next trip!

Noelleblue — Google review

A nice day out with the grandson. We both enjoyed it! About a mile walk (ish). Unlike most caverns I've been in this one was very warm (close to 80) and humid. I suggest to dress lightly. I'm elderly and not in the best shape but able to go the full distance no problem. Paul our guide was very informative and great at keeping things light and fun. Staff was wonderful and friendly.Only down side is cost was more than others like places, gift shop was a bit over priced and outside ride was not available.I do recommend finding discounts online that are available.Overall it was a nice place .

P& B — Google review

I was pleasantly surprised with how fun this was. Growing up in Utah, I've been on the tour for Timpanogos Cave, but these caverns were surprisingly different. First, they're large! Second, each section is unique. The ticket line was long (however, everyone was in town for the eclipse, so that may not be a factor most days), but our guide was hilarious and made geology fun. I definitely recommend this adventure.

Natalie Nielsen — Google review

Such a great experience.. you will think that you are out of the world .tour guide was very nice and friendly. I visited here starting February so inside it was not too hot.Water is allowed and also you can take pics but no touching the surface until your guide says.

Priya Nath — Google review

We went on a Thanksgiving weekend and it was not crowded. We were able to join the regular tour in 10 minutes. The tour is around 90 mins. The guide was great 😃. He had a sense of humor 😁. The cave had about 3 large halls. inside was warm so no need to wear any jackets. This is not a wheelchair or stroller friendly path. But you can take infants on a baby carrier.

Shavik Harindra Gunarathne — Google review

Nice tour walking around the cave, wear comfy walking shoes since it might be a bit slippery inside. you’ll go downhill on the way in and uphill on the way back. Tour guide was nice and will talk about the different formations along the way.

Rita L — Google review

Really amazing experience.Did the hidden passages experience. 100% worth it. Leroy our tour guide was funny and knowledgeable. Super recomended, by teens... so you know it's for real lol. We are coming back in a yr to do the wild tour, thanks to Leroy for making it sound like something we can't miss!

Round Rock Premium Outlets is a highly popular outlet mall in north Round Rock, Texas. It features more than 125 stores, many of which offer significant discounts on designer goods. The mall's food vendors are situated in the center, and open-air pathways allow shoppers to catch a breath of fresh air amid all the dedicated expeditions.

Such a great time with my family! We were able to do most of our shopping needs in just half of the shopping center! On our way out, we had to stop at the playground. My kiddos (6, 4, and 1) all had so much fun burning off that last bit of steam and making a new friend! Great day at a outdoor mall!

Abriana Moore — Google review

A great variety of stores! There’s also an indoor food court and you can find other small shops or food carts as you walk around. The best part? Plenty of benches to sit on and inside the food court area you can rent push carts for kids, which we did end up getting for one child. The worst part? Restrooms inside the food court were dirty. Floors were wet too because after you wash your hands, you need to go to a different area to dry them so water drips as you walk over to the hand dryers.

Lizsandra Edwards — Google review

I’m giving 3 star rating because they closed the store 7:57pm even though the store supposed to be closed at 8pm in the weekdays. It’s so unprofessionals & not company work ethic. I worked in stores we were not allowed to open or close without the business hours. You have to serve if your customer enters 7:59pm.

It’s alright. I remember going as a kid and it was much bigger and brighter. It seems more dull now. The fountain wasn’t running and was covered in algae. My service dog was denied entry into one of the stores, even after explaining that he was service. The pet store ads are everywhere and the dogs there live in small, plastic boxes with no room. The dogs were fighting and the woman there did nothing except yell at me for taking a picture.

Derek Nicdao — Google review

This place has great collection of stores and so many of them that you’re exhausted at the end.. but very few places to eat or drink..

Vijayendra TG — Google review

I personally don't think the stores here provide the "discounts" you expect at an outlet mall. My wife likes to shop here though, so I give them the benefit of the doubt. The common areas and stores are always clean, so that's good.

Roy F — Google review

Tons of stores. There is a decent amount of parking. Even if you can't find one close to an entrance, the walk isn't far at all. The area is clean, and there's a lot of trash bins. There are also food trucks that have delicious food and snacks.

Nui — Google review

Really good selection of stores. Venue felt safe as large as it was. My family and I had a great time. It's a bit pricey, as most outlet malls are, but you can literally spend an entire day here and never go in the same store twice. My kids love their Crocs outlet, and I enjoy that they have a Columbia outlet.

Ben Hooper — Google review

Hello, everyone! I didn't take a picture, but it's an outlet mall. If you have the time...it is a great place to shop. When you live downtown central, the need to shop anywhere other than your own neighborhood is not necessary. However, To venture out with the family or alone...it is an interesting perspective of northern, suburban LIVING.I use to live in Round Rock, even better. My 1st year here in Texas....I lived in a 3200sq ft4 bed home. I loved it. Terrvista, a golf course neighborhood. It is as beautiful now as it was in 2007 when I lived there. The outlet mall was walking distance, but I'm a professional when it comes to gathering things. Lol😄😁😁🤭🤭 SoTAKE THE CAR!😬😬🤫🤫🤫 SERIOUSLY! I did stop by the house & drove through the old & Very Beautiful Community. The memories of our past... give us courage to continue toward Our Future.Good & Love....🙋🏾‍♂️❤️ We owe it to each other to try our best; each day....to love each other for 1 reason. (We Are All Human.) However: people are & can be self concerned & attempt to forceTheir Ugliness on others. So do your best but,If you have to put someone in their place....🤭

warren mack — Google review

Lots of outlet stores but they do not seem to be marked down as much as the items at the San Marcos location. Usually it is not very crowded and most people shopping therr seem to keep to themselves. They do have a dog for sale place in this one now but the breeds are in the 4 to 8 k range. Inflation hit there.

Nathan Rosson (Nate) — Google review

This place is quiet and charming. Every year, in addition to the sale offers on items in their stores and varieties of different item designs, other Outlets and events, they put on fairs that are outdoors, specifically in their large parking lots.

Juan Carlos Castr Martinez — Google review

This outlet is beautiful and clean. For the most part it is like any outlet but the one thing I really liked was the mother lounge they had near the restrooms by the Food Court. The mother lounge had a nice couch, changing table, tv, sink, kid chair and table! It was even decorated. This room is perfect for any mom and especially breast feeding moms. The restrooms are very clean as well. The Food Court doesn’t have a lot of options, only about 5 different places but there are a lot of stores

Ashley Haughton — Google review

The walkways are nice and cool with a slight breeze as you walk through on a hot day.The bike store isn’t as impressive as I hoped and the employees are very rude but there is plenty of things to choose from to go look at in the mall so it’s worth a stop

cindy harrison — Google review

Looks like old place, Saturday and Sunday always busy and crowded. Poor food court. Its very disappointing that they have pet store with dogs in small cages. Just a few stores were greatMostly they open at 11 AM

This Premium Outlet in Round Rock is very nice and clean with a lot of busineses and brands for sport and classic clothing, shoes and more with afordable prices. It felt empty the day I went there..but I don't think it's always that way (It could be busy the weekends and during the holidays). It's also a nice place for a walk and enjoying the day.

Leisy Mirabal — Google review

Wish they planted more trees. The trail doesn't have much shade

Addy François — Google review

The nearest ocean is 200 miles/ 3 hours away. And it's like 100+ degrees every day in the summer now. So it's nice to have a place to cool down with a beach vibe in central Austin, despite it being small and man made. Aside from the "beach", there's water sports, fishing, and jogging trails. With that said, manage your expectations..this is central Texas after all, and not Florida! There are multiple entrances with parking though the sandy area is on the east side only. It's free at the moment but given time, I'm sure they will start charging like with everything in the Austin Area. Anyways, I'm happy to have this as an option.

Nice park That's great to see! Wonderful for jogging and walking. Airy location with benches and piers.Possibilities for good fishing and panoramic vistas.

Vinay Chitneni — Google review

Pleasently surprised at how beautiful this lake was. It has multiple piers and ample parking spots. We went at evening on a weekend and still got easy parking and a secluded area for ourselves where we could setup our picnic and enjoy the beautiful sunset by the lake side. The walking track looked great and I would like to go back for a stroll when the weather gets better. Sunset views were beautiful and we got some amazing photo ops. Highky recommended!

Tahira Najm — Google review

Beautiful little lake with lots of activity. You can rent surf boards for paddle boarding. There's a nice little swimming beach, a few play scapes, a shaded casebo or 2, about 10 little piers with 3 or 4 larger ones as well. The trail is nice and wide, however unpaved, so if that's important, be mindful. There are lots of ducks and cranes with plenty of space for grounded pick nicks, flying kites, or just stretching your legs out.

Mark Martinez — Google review

Great 3 mile jog for partly cloudy or overcast days. No shade on the trail. Plenty of parking!

Orlando Marquez — Google review

Wonderful Sunrise! But growth in the lake and terrible cracks or fissures in the foundation makes it hard to really enjoy Lake Pflugerville's beauty; and Texas heat isn't helping.I hope Texas Parks and Wildlife can help because I almost fell in the cracks several times.Save our Lake's!

Aquarium

Zoos & Aquariums

This family friendly aquarium has an impressive variety of sea life, including corals, tropical fish, sharks and rays, as well as tropical birds and reptiles. There are special programs where visitors can interact with the animals.

Wonderful find in Austin! It's in a strip mall, so you don't think it's going to be anything special but it was the most interactive animal experience we have ever seen! We loved every minute! You have to buy tokens to interact with the animals but it would have been fun with or without.

Alysia Gates — Google review

We felt like we were in the wrong place because the front looks like part of a strip mall. Once inside, we were pleasantly surprised. It's a mixture of zoo and aquarium animals. They really push the tokens for feeding the animals to make it more interactive. There was a small concession stand area and play place which the kids loved.

Lisa Cox — Google review

The thing I liked the most was that this location was very hands on. You could basically almost touch all of the animals. You should buy tokens before visiting the exhibits to feed the animals ( if you want) otherwise you'll have to go back out to get them. The location was strange as it was located inside a shopping center. It's a small aquarium but still enjoyable.

Tara Maceyko — Google review

Extremely surprised how interactive the visit was! My friend and I got to pet a lot of the animals as well as feed them! There are tokens for purchase to feed animals, but most of the exhibits were free so you don’t have to break the bank to enjoy! All the employees truly care about the animals and making everyones experience so much fun. The employees are knowledgeable about the animals too! Ryan was an employee who showed us Louie the crocodile! Such a fun experience! Highly recommend!

Summer Stewart — Google review

I had no idea this place even existed and I was taken here for my birthday this week and it was AMAZING. The staff is awesome and you can clearly tell they all love their jobs. The highlight was definitely Ryan giving us the best experiences with both Sid the 2 toed sloth and Spike the porcupine. I would highly recommend everyone that loves animals visit.

Joshua Sharon — Google review

John was our guide on our school field trip today. He was awesome! Loved his friendliness and professionalism with our kids. We learned some interesting new facts about the animals. Thanks John for a great tour!

Tiel McKee — Google review

It was a very surprising visit to say the least. Pulling into the parking lot I was very skeptical of I would enjoy this experience. Once inside, I was amazed! They pack a LOT of things into the space. Sea life, ringtail lemurs, lizards, turtles, fish and birds! A few highlights were petting the rays which love people and paying to spend 15 minutes or so petting lemurs. Very friendly staff and such a great time! Will definitely be back!

Patrick Frisby — Google review

Had the best time here with my grandsons. I expected much less from the parking lot, but the inside is amazing!! So many animals to interact with and learn about. There are many activities for kids, it’s a very educational and family friendly environment. I was very impressed by this aquarium. I will definitely be back.

Allie Hughes — Google review

I liked it. It was so cool there. I love seeing all the animals there. The only down side is that it costs too much for the tokens to interact with some of the animals and to get in cost too much. For two adults and one child cost 129 Probably won't be going back.

Lori Caulboy — Google review

My wife decided to getaway for the weekend and Austin Aquarium was on our list to hit. It did not disappoint! Well organized and you feed the animals. Very friendly environment and the animals are great.

Mike Torres — Google review

Had an amazing time here! It's smaller than other aquariums, but much more interactive. There is a huge selection of animal/sea life from all over that you can actually interact with. They sell tokens in addition to the admission price that are used for animal interactions such as feeding the stingrays and birds, getting balloon animals and going into the animal exhibits. They have a small cafe with drinks and snacks. Parking is free and you can be in and out in a little over an hour. It was a great experience and we'll be back!

F G — Google review

They have so many in person experiences!!! A must visit for kids! Feeding the fish, sting ray and other marine life was so much fun! There is a room for sitting with the parakeets and feeding them from your hand. They have interactive experience with lemurs, kangaroos, sloths and penguins!!! If you can't do it all, at least do some and it'll be so worth it!!!

Divyaxi P. — Google review

I brought my one year old here with no expectations and I was blown away! It was very interactive! I love the feeding token idea! Coming into the cages where birds were flying and Iguanas were was just great! My one year old loved the different birds. Definitely will be returning here

Agata Kucharska — Google review

My family really liked this aquarium! It is a little bit smaller than we were expecting but this is also the most interactive aquarium we have ever been too. The aquarium itself is in an old store and the GPS was able to guide us easily. I would have liked for it to be a little easier to find an employee to help us with the exhibits that require us to find an employee to interact. They all seemed so busy that I felt like if I had asked something of them, I would have been a burden. So I didn't ask for help with those exhibits even though I really wanted to interact with the toucans.. I realize that they have things to do and animals that need care but maybe have just one person talk to us or ask us if we would like help with any of the exhibits. All in all though it was fun for the kids and made a good day.

Loralei Ellison — Google review

One of the only aquariums that allow you to touch and interact with the animals. Kids loved it. Not super big but enough of a variety for the kids to see. Some of the interactions costs too much and didn’t find the worth in doing it.

Anthony Escobar — Google review

Absolutely incredible place to visit! Many interaction opportunities, the staff are all well educated and very friendly! Our favorite moment of the day was getting to hang out with Brandi and Sid the Sloth! They were both amazing and really made the visit special! I would come back here a thousand times more just to feed the parakeets! Awesome place with awesome animals and experiences for a really great price! 100% recommend! Also, Sid you are the most beautiful boy, I hope to see you again!

Montana Hotard — Google review

Awesome location! The staff was super nice and very informative and knowledgeable on all the animals. Big shout out to Vonnie for making our experience a great first experience 😁 she was very patient with my daughter and explained everything with a smile! She even made sure we were able to get a few good pictures for memories! Thank you again to all the staff for a great experience, will definitely recommend and come back to spend more money here.

David — Google review

Disappointingly quite a small facility and attraction. Costly for what it is. Located at the end of a strip shopping center. It got crowded fairly quickly on a Saturday upon opening. Fun and engaging for younger children. They can feed the animals, birds, fish and enter certain exhibits for tokens. They have a talented caricature artist for a selfie cartoon portrait at 6 tokens for color. Don’t expect to spend all day here, it just isn’t a big enough attraction.

Marilyn — Google review

This aquarium might be small, but boy is it mighty. We did about 3 laps around the building. We payed for some tokens, but too many tokens gets pricey QUICK. We loved getting to see all the different lemurs, and getting to pet and feed the penguins. Overall it’s a great interactive aquarium/zoo. You can get up close and personal with every single animal in the building. My little one loved that!!

Ctine Doza — Google review

The staff here loves animals. It’s evident in the way the react to them. This is a small aquarium compared to many others, but they care. Thanks for the great time

Dennis Harrigan — Google review

This place has been steadily getting better over time. Has some nice salt water aquariums and lots of opportunity for kids to interact with the animals. The gift store has some good options for kids. There is a snack bar but I’d suggest you have alternate plans. It’s about a 1 hour visit.

Keith Brown — Google review

This is a fun little place to have an outing with your kids, or even just to enjoy with a significant other. There are plenty of aquarium displays, but there are more bird and mammal displays that are interactive and really good for the critters and the customers. I would recommend it to anyone...budget an hour or so and you'll be able to really enjoy the whole place.

John Barry — Google review

Had a wonderful time at the Austin Aquarium with my family. There's so much to do in there, whether it's feeding the fish, touching the birds, or petting the lemurs. It's a great outing with the family. The prices wouldn't be so bad if the tokens weren't so expensive 🤯. That is really the one downfall for me was how expensive those tokens were. Be smart and save your tokens for next time if you don't use them all! 💯

Anna Robertson — Google review

I would recommend austin aquarium to anyone visiting the area! It is Small but that's what makes it so great! The amount of love, care, and knowledge of all the animals by all of the staff was so impressive. The encounters will give you lasting memories and you learn so much! Ryan went over and beyond throughout our entire visit to make our visit an awesome experience! We ended our visit with a visit with Ryan and Sid the sloth. Ryan's knowledge, passion, and love for Sid is nothing but amazing and heart warming. It is hard to find a place that 3 college age kids all enjoy but this place was the place and they knocked it out of the park! We will definitely be back!

Jodie Martin — Google review

I highly recommend checking this place out!My best friend and I went right when they opened and I was blown away with how much I learned from the staff. Brandi, Tim and Ryan were exceptionally knowledgeable about all the animals and it was obvious their staff is very passionate about what they do. I can't wait to bring my boys here to have the same wonderful experience I had. FYI, if you have a cat you won't be able to visit with the lemurs and wallabies!

Michelle Heins — Google review

The aquarium is small, but there are a variety of exhibits to enjoy. For kids, there are many opportunities to have "encounters" with animals, learning about and interacting with certain animals under the supervision of the staff. We have a membership and like to pop in every so often for a leisurely hour or two.

If you're looking for an adrenaline rush, look no further than Lake Travis Zipline Adventures. Their lines are some of the longest and fastest in the state, making it the perfect place to experience Austin's natural beauty from a new perspective.

Our first time zip-lining and it was a blast!! Sarah and Nathan were fantastic guides/instructors. Be prepared to HIKE up and wear the right shoes. You go through a total of 5 lines, each higher up and for longer. I appreciated everything - clean bathrooms, able to lock valuables, water bottles provided throughout, wonderful trip on the boat. And most of all, I felt completely safe the entire time with amazing views of Lake Travis. You won't regret it.

Vivian Kong — Google review

My 14-year-old son and I had a great time. Our guides, Tristan N. and Austin L. were amazing. There were a few people in our group who were noticeably nervous around heights, and our guides both did a great job of putting them at ease. They are funny, knowledgeable, outgoing, intelligent, and helpful. They both deserve a big raise! As for the course itself, it was fun, and the hikes are not really all that challenging. The views are great and the trails are well maintained. Just where some comfortable running shoes or hiking boots, and drink plenty of water, which is provided at various points along the course. If your kids are within the weight limits, I highly recommend Lake Travis Zipline Adventures. They’ll have a blast and maybe even get a confidence boost as well! Don’t forget to bring some extra cash to tip your guides. These kids work their tails off and I can’t say enough about their positive attitudes and professionalism. We definitely plan to come back soon for the night flight course.

This was an amazing experience. I’ve done a lot of guided zip line tours and while the zips themselves aren’t much of anything special, the tour guides make this worth it! Don’t get me wrong, the zips are awesome and long, but in the end, it’s just a zip. The tour guides though? Incredible! I had J and Austin. They worked together very well and had fun stories, sayings, were humorous and just a general joy to spend 3 hours if my day with. Thanks for a great time!

Skye Hill — Google review

Brian and Miriam were incredible guides! Had a lot of fun with them. My boyfriend and myself went for our 2nd year anniversary, and we had so much fun. From the pontoon ride across the lake, to the half-mile long zipline at the end, it was amazing! My boyfriend made sure to have me say "Brian's thighs were the real highlight here."Thank you guys for the amazing day!

Cortney Murry — Google review

Very fun experience. Even with the overcast weather, the views were beautiful and the hikes between lines were fun. Our guides Lucy and Orion were energetic and kept the whole tour exciting. Bring comfortable shoes as you'll be hiking between lines, but they're short hikes no more than 15 minutes. Highly recommend a trip up to Lake Travis just to Zipline.

Michael Dodd — Google review

The zip lines were SO cool!! The two longest zip lines had really pretty views. Jay and Lizzy V were our guides and they were fantastic!! They explained everything well and were super energetic! We’d definitely come back!!

Kat C — Google review

It was 105 degrees and although there was grueling uphill hiking, it was well worth it. The instructors guided the group at a good pace and assured we stayed well hydrated throughout the entire course. Miriam was especially helpful to me when I fell behind the group on the last and longest trail. Joseph motivated everyone that was nervous. He posed in several positions on the wires for us to take pictures. The views from the top were amazing. It was a high adrenaline adventure that has to be experienced at least once. Me at 66 years of age, highly recommend Zipline Lake Travis.

We went ziplining on one of our honeymoon activities here at Lake Travis Zipline Adventures. Our tour guides were Austin and Miriam. They were a fun duo. My new wife has always been deathly afraid of heights. But Austin's humor and Miriam's assist to that humor kept her fear at bay and focused on the fun. They were safe and professional at the same time fun and witty. These two deserve a raise. Thanks Austin and Miriam for a great day on our honeymoon. You made great memories for us.

Austin & Ben (Our Guides) were the best ever! We had a blast! They had a great sense of humor!!! When we do go back, I will request those 2 guys!!! (Great hike for "butt" muscles) :)

Tandy B — Google review

Fantastic time! Beautiful views, especially around sunset. Nice deck at the end to grab a drink and unwind a little after you're done. There's some hiking involved, but the good news is that "what hikes up gets to zip down!" O'Ryan and Andrew were our guides and they did a great job for our group.

Peter Simmang — Google review

Casey and Eric were great tour guides, they did a great job at getting everyone comfortable! The boat ride was to and from the zip lining which was beautiful being able to see the water. The hike was challenging yet fun! The zip lining was the best part with a beautiful view over lake Travis over the water and the nature. All throughout the tours they take pictures that you can take with you and purchase at the end :)

Amani Bradshaw — Google review

Eric and Brice were amazing guides. This is the best zip line experience my family and I have ever had. The safety is top notch, the views are incredible and it was so much fun. I would go back in a heartbeat.

Joseph Bush — Google review

Okay so first off everything is so cool, pretty views, super fast zip lines with awesome views. It’s a hike though! I am definitely out of shape. The first few not too bad, the last 2 for myself were brutal but with that being said I am different! But our tour guides were awesome! We had Trenton who is very clever and witty and we had McKenna. I got super dehydrated, and she was the absolute best. She even carried my gear because I was shaking so bad. She CARES so much. It was such a great experience and I do recommend going. But again, McKenna is the best..she made me feel so comfortable and never once hesitated with anything. She was the real MVP of my trip so I thank her for that!

Michelle Owens — Google review

We had an awesome time. Joseph and Casey were fun, entertaining all while keeping us safe on the lines. The last zip was side by side and a half mile long. Loved it!

John Glessner — Google review

Sami and Matt were amazing on our tour. We spent our 3 year anniversary together at this place and we’re enjoying the time together. It’s a go at your own pace with the group place, just under a mile TOTAL of all hiking and is definitely hot. They provide water wish some good surprises at the end. The course was worth the trip and would definitely recommend to try something new if you’re into adventures.

Megan Pietrzak — Google review

The best experience I’ve ever had!!! Logan and hunter were awesome. Fun. Exciting. I definitely became confidence and less nervous after the first if it weren’t from them two. They were a great team! The last zip line- be aware. Be compared. The hiking up is brutal. Overall, deft coming back more compared. After skydiving and zip lining. Next to the bucket list!! Thank you guys.Oh btw. The nice cold beer is ready for ya at the end!

Stephanie Henry — Google review

Travels from Dallas Tx to celebrate our anniversary by zip lining. It was amazing. The hikes up almost killed me lol but I made it. Water is provided. You’re able to hold your phone while zip lining. The staff at check in and guides were the best. The views are beautiful, the drive up there is beautiful. Totally worth doing!!! Thanks Pierce & Carson yall were the BEST!!!

Amanda Arzola — Google review

Decided to try this out while visiting Austin from NC. Please note that the hiking aspect is pretty physically demanding. We had a great time though. Tour guides were super nice and helpful. Plenty of water was available. And the views from the lines were awesome. Thanks for the tour Trent and Nic!

Jennifer Felts — Google review

The zip guides Connor and Tatum were a blast and the views were unbeatable. Loved every second. They did not tell me to say any of this... promise! Lol all the staff have great energy don't miss out!

Hans and Austin Were AMAZING! they answered any questions we had and made it such a fun experience for our group! Definitely coming back again!

Jael Alvarez — Google review

We went in March for a sunset zip, but sadly it was cloudy the entire time. We still enjoyed it. After you get your gear on, you walk down to a boat and head just across a small section of the lake to start hiking up to the first zip. Wear comfortable close toe shoes and just know there is hiking up involved. Some got winded and needed a break on one section, but it was well worth it! If you do the sunset slot you start in day light and end in the dark. So much fun. We all enjoyed it!! Great for all ages (75-250lb weight limit).

Dominique Harmon — Google review

CALEB and NICK are the best tour guides ever. They were so helpful, funny and comforting! My niece and I had a BLAST from start to finish. I highly recommend coming here for a fun adventure!

Elsie Wise — Google review

We went on a Friday we had the 11 AM Slot. I was very Thankful that the weather held out on what was supposed to be a crappy rainy day. Be sure to eat before you go because there is really no where once on site to get food. Our guides were McKenna & Conner we had a group of 12. They were very professional & kind the entire time. They were very clear on the instructions for the safety of the group. We are not hikers and were able to do the trails and hikes just fine with some rest breaks in between. wear comfortable shoes for sure, even though McKenna did the whole thing in Crocks LOL. Water is provided at each resting point/zipline. Lots of opportunities for great pictures, the guides as well take photos you can purchase at the end. The last Zipline lands at a very basic snack bar/bar. With beer available for purchase. We would 100 % do this again hopefully when the lake has more water in it. The water level so sadly very low.

Captain Tim was awesome had a long charter 130 to sunset about 8ish and sailed a while stoped in a cove to swim and brought our own food and had a nice meal sailing and got an amazing sunset. He is super informative and you have a question he'll answer it was awesome. He really enjoys what he's doing and it shows it's super relaxing and fun, just a great experience to have.

If you’re looking for the perfect birthday/celebration/bonding experience.. look at SailAustin. Capt’n Tim at SailAustin provides by far the best charter I have ever been on. I am surprised to find they don’t have a Google review so I’m sharing my experience here. From the moment I contacted Capt’n Tim expressing interest in booking a private charter for my friend’s birthday, he was kind, responsive and helpful. Tim took the time to answer all my questions and then some, looking up the moon phases to provide evidence that our night sail would be as beautiful as promised. The boat itself is magnificent and impressive (I think it’s the largest sail boat on the lake). He had everything we needed; Bluetooth stereo, complimentary water, pool noodles, even a professional camera. My friend was in tears with how amazing the whole experience was... which is how I know I outdid myself finding this charter (by chance!).The experience is affordable for a captained charter on Lake Travis and an incredible value for the experience you get. Much of this comes from Tim doing what he loves (sailing!) and wanting to share that experience with others. I even learned to sail a bit! I don’t normally write reviews but I am so incredibly thankful to have found Capt’n Tim and to have been part of such an amazing sailing experience.

I always meant to come review after the whirlwind of planning for our wedding. Finally doing it. This is a breathtaking, family friendly location. The owners welcomed myself, photographer/ hairdresser, and sister for my bridal pictures. They allowed me to use an air-conditioned room set up with family portraits and heirlooms in which to get ready, without us even asking. A wonderful day and gorgeous landscape of the waterfall and gardens.

Sara Grahmann — Google review

To say I had garden envy is a complete understatement. Everything here looked so lush and vibrant. The staff tending to the plants were super friendly and willing to share knowledge on the plants and property. Everything is very well kept and you can tell the staff take huge pride over their facility. My husband and 5 year old are avid spring swimmers and jumped right in. Rope swing was a hit. My 16yr old and myself enjoyed sunning on the surrounding rocks and watching the wildlife. The pool was gorgeous and it was so cool to watch the water flow into the pool, out again, down the water fall and into the spring pool. I definitely recommend this spot to anyone thinking of visiting.

Icewolf Lee — Google review

Great private camping site, inside a ranch, with access to a pool where 20+ natural springs converge and spill down to a swimming hole in the creek below. The swimming hole is over 6 ft deep in some areas and even has a small cave and swing rope. There are not as many restrictions on where to set your tent or your fire pit, as in a regular public park. There is water and electricity at the 24 RV spots with picnic tables and grills ( on the top level), but not at the more primitive tents sites which are spread out on the 2nd and 1st levels in elevation. The 3 restrooms are clean, but no hot water in the showers. No dogs or glass containers allowed.

Dan — Google review

Beautiful spot for a refreshing day trip or camping. Both natural and more manicured areas to enjoy. My husband and I went on Labor Day, and it wasn't too crowded in the morning, but the place definitely got busier after lunch. Water was cool and clean (though a bit murky in the main pool just from getting stirred up by swimmers). Recommend arriving early to avoid the biggest crowds!

Adrienne Daeger — Google review

Don't shy away from the garden! The spring area is absolutely beautiful with tons of things to explore. Take your time to walk down the path to the second waterfall. It's gorgeous. The garden area is one of the most peaceful places I've ever been. You can sit in the hamock at the end of the garden and enjoy the giant wind chimes!

Masud Abdullah — Google review

From the moment we stepped foot in Krause Springs we were amazed by the beauty of its garden-a true oasis. The true jewel was the spring itself. Though not as expansive as we initially thought it would be its remarkable beauty made up for it. It’s a place where you can disconnect from the hustle of your daily life and reconnect with nature! Krause Springs is a must visit for anyone seeking a peaceful escape.

This is an absolute gem of a swim spot! From the moment I arrived, the staff greeted me with warmth and friendliness, instantly making me feel welcome. The swimming experience was nothing short of fantastic, with water that was perfect for a refreshing dip. The ambiance and vibes at Krause Springs are simply unbeatable; it's a serene oasis where you can relax and unwind. If I could, I would give them 10 stars for their exceptional service, incredible swimming opportunities, and the overall amazing atmosphere. It's a must-visit destination for anyone seeking a memorable and enjoyable swim experience. Highly recommended!

What a lovely place. Absolutely spectacular. Was blown away by all the features of the place. the pools, the river, the garden. We were lucky enough that our vans were able to make it done to the river side camping area. if you have a vehicle that can do it. its a great spot down there. had a really great time. definitely worth every penny. look forward to hopefully coming back.

If you want a truly quiet and relaxing time camping and rving this place is the best bang for your buck with the springs near by.The facilities were nice (rv area) and the lawns were kept maintained. You can bring your mountain bikes and ride along the rocks and have a good time or go near by to Pedernales state park.My only complaint is that Gates close at 8pm and I’m young and like to go see night life especially if there are strict rules already about quiet hours. I think this could be managed better for paying customers, in addition to better reservation point of sale. The park has a website but cannot reserve which is a crutch especially when Terri does not trust the mail so if you’re traveling far you’re really banking on first come first serve. We came days before it is closed for the season and it was beautiful weather for tent camping and fire

What's not to love! We went on memorial day weekend so of course it was busy but still very enjoyable! We camped for 2 nights and loved it all! I would recommend water shoes, there's rocks, tree roots and lots of mud on the bottom. The waterfall is beyond beautiful and there's a cave right behind it you can go in. The rope swing is really cool and don't forget to jump off the ledge into the water, it's exilerating. We can't wait to be back!

Magical place for old and young. For the brave ones try the liane swing over the natural pool! Bring your own food, they only sell some soft drinks.

This place was an incredible idea and our family had tons of fun. I’m knocking 2 stars off because the water was very murky (which I know is not the parks fault, but it could help others. It felt pretty gross). We stayed in the natural pool 90% of the time, which was freezing. I removed another star because the person at the front was very rude when I asked an honest question. Nice employees would make for a better experience. Also, the bathrooms were very dirty. One bathroom didn’t even have a stall door.

I couldn’t find many reviews or pics of the RV hookups so this is dedicated to the 24 they have. Not on pads but many well shaded under legacy trees. Easy access to the pools but tucked away in the back of the property. Grills and fire pits at each with steel picnic tables. VERY well maintained. Short walk to to toilet/showers.30 and 50 amp hooks with the usual 110 outlets. Solid and worked great. Water has good pressure and tastes great.Hookups are in far back of each spot so bring extensions; my 50 foot hose JUST made my connections at the front of our rig. Also know the sites are pretty tight to each other. Fine on a quiet weekday but might be a little close for your tastes on weekends.Overall a beautiful camp, especially this close to ATX.

I saw a tic toc video about this place at 10pm on a Friday night. I book a RV space right then on the spot and woke up the next morning and drove down from Dallas. I have a 25 ft Regency Coach (small C class RV size) that I was able to enter the property with ease. If you have a 45 ft A class it will be tight. There are not a ton of spaces maybe 24 in total is my guess. And they’re all grass pads with electric and water hook up only. The sewer dump in next to the public restroom and there will be a line if you’re not an early riser. Was it worth it, yes. The cost for a space was reasonable. The ride down from Dallas was priceless during the spring bluebonnet season!!!! The hills and winding roads or so picturesque it’s unreal. Crossing over the Colorado River at Lake Marble Falls was heavenly. I didn’t have time to stop there but I’m going back for Marble Falls. Now back to the campsite. It is a privately owned property and decently kept. A little too tall grass under one of the fifth wheels next to me. That makes me nervous about what’s crawling at the foot of my steps when coming and going. There was no trash in the grounds it was very clean for a semi full park. More dry tent campers than RVs. The best experiences included THE AMAZING HUDGE FIVE FOOT WIND CHIMES hanging in the trees in a garden near the entry. It created the most amazing sound garden experience I’ve ever had. I am master gardener and I’m investing in buying these for my home today! The water falls, ponds and trees are heaven!!! It’s worth at least one night. I don’t see me staying there for days at a time but that’s just me. A wanderer. Only 4 stars because of grass pads and no full hookups for RV. The staff was nice and if I could rate the beauty of the nature likes and falls I’d give it a FIVE separately.

Perhaps it was the wrong time of the season to come but water was dark and looks too dirty, our daughters wouldnt come in to swim o tried to get them in the pool area and still no.Place is not that big and much to do.Staff was really friendly helpful. Many nice places to park was available. We had a roof top tent camping sites had tables . Bathroom has no hot water and low water pressure.Pack plenty of food and water because they do. Not have any restaurants inside

Just magical. We went on a Wednesday and it was basically empty. We enjoyed swimming, walking around the property, taking photos by the waterfall, and especially laying in the garden hammock and listening to the wind chimes. Definitely check this gem out!

best place i’ve been!!!! the butterfly garden was STUNNING amidst the hot texas weather, it was such a beautiful oasis. the waterfall was the star of the place and the water was so refreshing! the rope swing was a huge hit as well! there is SO much camping space with picnic tables at each place. everywhere is a easy walking distance from the water. 10/10 place, i wish i didn’t have to leave!

Had a great time here during my birthday week! Not too crowded when I went . The garden was so peaceful and lovely, the pool was dope and the mini waterfall and natural pond that you can swim in was the best! Felt like a hidden gem!

Spicewood Vineyards is a very good TX winery, located in Spicewood, TX, a stone's throw from Dripping Springs, TX. We went on a Sunday, our first event at the winery, the 16th annual chili cookoff, and boy what fun it was. The winery location is beautiful, "out in the country" with beautiful views and a creek that runs right through the property. The wines are good, slight edge to the reds over the whites. The tempranillo is very good, as well as the Bordeaux-style red blend. On the white side, viognier was the star. Very friendly staff, even though the place was a zoo! Kids and pets welcome here! We liked it enough to join the wine club! The only suggestion for events of this type, have serving lines for members, that would be an extra little perk for those who have chosen to join the club! Recommend Spicewood Vineyards!

Great wine, property, and people. We enjoyed a wine tasting and got greeted by blueberry the dog. We didn’t buy a bottle only due to having to fly back to Michigan. Would highly recommend!

There’s a nice indoor space and patio. Unfortunately, the wine just wasn’t for us and we found the staff we interacted with to be a bit standoffish and a little rude at points. Overall it was ok but we wouldn’t go back having had better experiences elsewhere nearby

Not too far out of the way when you're visiting Marble Falls area. Very close to Opie's BBQ in Spicewood, TX. Very good wine variety and a very calm, relaxing patio with pleasant views and a light breeze. Very chill atmosphere. Very delightful. 100% recommend visiting Spicewood Vineyards.

Unexpectedly great. No sweet wines at all (thankfully), and our server was excellent and nice. Happily surprised to have some dry reds in the mix. Great atmosphere and a would definitely come back!

Me and wife stopped by on our weekend getaway in Spicewood and this place was a definite highlight! We loved every wine, the staff so extremely friendly and knowledgeable, and the grounds were beautiful as well.We loved it so much we decided to become wine club members before we left!

The place is beautiful. We had a nice time, dog and kid friendly. They were prepared with Gluten Free crackers for the cheeses platter which was a huge plus.

I discovered this place not long ago and I love it. The place is beautiful. The wines are delicious and the seller is amiable and advise us very well. You can taste and buy them on site.

We never travel to central Texas without stopping by to see the wonderful crew at Spicewood Vineyards and pick up a few of our favorite bottles of wine. Paul, Cameron and Allie are just the best people and have always made us feel welcome since we started coming here a few years back. Whenever anyone asks us our favorite Fredericksburg winery we tell them to drive up to Spicewood for the best experience—no name tags, no stoppers on the wine bottles, no pushy sales, and they’re dog friendly. All that said, the wines are award winning and exceptional. You won’t regret a stop that might be a little out of the way.

Love the atmosphere. Enjoyed the tasting and education on barrels I asked about. The Merlot was not what I was expecting, which was pleasant. The Independence is also worth trying out, they do sell it by the glass.I joined the Wine Club and am looking forward to those release events. They also have some other items for cooking... Balsamic and oil options.

We have been coming here for 6 years and love it every time! Paul, Cameron, Allie, and Ron always take great care of us. They are very dog friendly and always welcoming of our antics. The wine is great, especially their Pet Nat and Tempranillo. I highly recommend this place, and we look forward to our next visit.

This is my favorite winery in Texas. They check all of the boxes and then some: wonderful wine, beautiful location, great wine club, and a staff that treats you like family. Thank you for creating such a wonderful product and experience. My 1-2 visits per year are always a highlight.Oh and the chili cookoff was awesome. That flyover!

A lot of fun. Wonderful atmosphere -- very chill with rustic glamor. Chris was amazing! Her cheese suggestions completely elevated the tasting experience. Chris was knowledgeable and friendly. Totally customized the experience for us because we shared the estate tasting and customized the regular sampling. I learned in not into rose or pat mat haha. But we loved the Tandem, good guy(s), and muscat blanc. Also super friendly dogs made it feel more like home.

Made an unplanned stop here on the way back to Austin from Marble Falls and SO GLAD we did! Beautiful vineyard and outdoor seating. Friendly staff and excellent wine selection. The red Zinfandel was very good. We will definitely be back to try the tasting. There is building separate from the tasting room that can be rented for weddings and events.
