In reality, it often signifies that the seller hasn’t updated the tracking information. DHgate sellers typically update tracking when the order is already in transit, so even if it still says “Pending,” your order may already be en route to you.
How Long Will My Tracking State “Pending Delivery Confirmation”?
Most orders on DHgate will transition from this status to another within 1-5 days after your initial purchase.
If you find yourself staring at “Pending Delivery Confirmation” for more than a week with no change, it likely indicates that the seller is having problems shipping the item, (normally due to not having the product in stock).
In such situations, you have a few viable options at your disposal:
- You can reach out to the seller to seek an update on when they plan to dispatch your order.
- If the seller proves unresponsive or the delay becomes excessive, you will want to start looking into opening a dispute through the DHGate platform.

What Action Triggers the Next Update?
The action that will move the status from “Pending Delivery Confirmation” is the seller sending your order to the shipping carrier and providing you with a valid tracking number.
This means that once the package is within the delivery network of the carrier, the status will change to “In Transit” or “Shipped.”
The tracking number can also be used to monitor your package’s progress on the carrier’s website, or apps such as 17Track and Parcelsapp.
I often recommend free universal tracking apps such as these, as they can provide even more up-to-date and detailed information than the actual carrier site, (hard to believe I know. 🙂 )

“Processing” and “Pending Delivery Confirmation” are different types of alerts but occur at similar stages of the order process.
This can lead to a bit of confusion, but to clear things up for you:
- “Processing” means the seller has received your order and is preparing to fulfill it, i.e., the item is being picked, packaged, etc.
- “Pending Delivery Confirmation” focuses specifically on finalizing the shipping arrangements… it is the limbo period between the seller having the package in its warehouse and the item being picked up by the carrier.
Once the seller hands the package over to the carrier, the “Pending Delivery Confirmation” status will transition to a transit status.
Conversely, the “Processing” status may shift earlier in the seller’s preparation process, preceding the actual shipment.

To help you gauge when it’s time to raise concerns about your DHgate order being in the “Pending Delivery Confirmation” status, consider the following timeline:
- 1-5 days: Sit back and relax, your order is still in the processing phase.
- 6-8 days: You might want to reach out to the seller if the “Pending” status endures for this amount of time. It doesn’t hurt to get an update.
- 9-15 days: By now the seller is really dragging their heels. If they have not provided a suitable explanation for the delay you should contact DHGate.
- 15-30 days: If there is no movement during this time period, you should open a dispute in order to claim a refund.
- 30+ days: The vendor has disappeared and you will not receive your order. The only option is a refund via DHGate.
How to Open a Dispute with DHGate?
To open a dispute through DHgate if your order remains on “Pending Delivery Confirmation” for more than 15 days, you follow these steps:
- Log In: Start by logging into your DHgate account.
- Access “My DHgate”: Once logged in, go to the “My DHgate” section on the DHgate website.
- Go to “My Orders”: Within “My DHgate,” locate and click on “My Orders.” Here, you will see a list of your recent orders.
- Find the Unshipped Order: Identify the specific order that has not been shipped and is causing concern.
- Click on “Open Dispute”: Next to the unshipped order, you should see an option that says “Open Dispute”. Click on this link to initiate the dispute process.
- Select the Reason: DHgate will prompt you to select a reason for opening the dispute. In this case, you can choose a relevant reason, such as “Order Not Shipped”, “Undelivered” etc.
- Provide Details: You will be asked to provide more details about the issue. Explain the situation clearly, including evidence of any communication you’ve had with the seller and the expected shipping timeframes.
- Attach Evidence: You can attach any evidence that supports your claim. This might include screenshots of your communication with the seller or any documentation related to the order.
- Propose a Solution: You may be given the option to propose a solution. In this case, you can request a refund or express what resolution you would like to see.
- Submit the Dispute: Once you’ve filled out all the necessary information, review your dispute to ensure it’s accurate. After confirming, submit the dispute.
- Await DHgate’s Response: DHgate will review your dispute and contact the seller to attempt to resolve the issue. They will communicate with both you and the seller throughout this process.
- Resolution: Depending on the outcome of the dispute, DHgate will work to find a resolution that is fair to both parties. This may involve a refund, a reshipment of the order, or another suitable solution.
Keep in mind that DHgate’s dispute resolution process is designed to protect buyers and sellers alike, ensuring a fair and transparent process.
